While speaking with officers, Simpson admitted that he had been drinking before he started driving. Simson agreed to perform sobriety tests, but he showed signs of impairment, so he was taken into custody. After being read implied consent, Simpson initially consented to provide a breath sample, but once he was transported to booking, he no longer wanted to do it. Simpson was then charged with driving under the influence and implied consent violation.

Steven Dewayne Simpson of Belmont Drive in Ozark, AR, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on September 2nd, charged with DUI and implied consent violation. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
