36-year-old John Griffin was jailed for public intoxication on February 11 in Nashville. Officers responded to the call of a person asleep in the snack room of the building and located Griffin in a deep slumber. They woke him up and noticed he was inebriated and unable to walk by himself without falling over. They tried to let him call someone to retrieve him, but he kept giving them a street address instead of a phone number for them to call. Griffin was taken into custody for public intoxication and transported to booking in all of his glory.

Scott Miller charged in DUI crash after drinking Bourbon shots before driving
55-year-old Scott Miller and his wife attended a concert in Madison Saturday night before he crashed their vehicle on I-40 on the way home just before 1 a.m. Metro Fire responded to the scene, but Miller and the passengers denied all assistance and stated their son was coming to pick them up. Metro Nashville Police arrived a short time later to find Miller still in the driver’s seat with his eyes closed. He reportedly reeked of alcohol and admitted to consuming Bourbon shots prior to driving. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for DUI.
Vanderbilt Wrestler Brayden Thomas Edman jailed after being too drunk to care for himself in public
21-year-old Vanderbilt wrestler Brayden Thomas Edman was found wandering through the lobby of a building at 2 a.m. Saturday, while attempting to gain access to restricted upper floors. Building security alerted Metro Nashville Police, who responded to the scene. “B.T.” Edman initially told officers he was simply attempting to find his vehicle. He had extremely slurred speech and kept pulling out his wallet when asked if he could use his phone to arrange a rideshare away from the scene. He eventually stated his phone was “in the hallway,” but it was not found. The officer also attempted to locate the party that Edman claimed brought him to the address without success. Edmon admitted to consuming two shots of alcohol and drinking three cocktails. He refused all medical assistance and was eventually taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.
Deidre Kyzer assaults sister for entering her room, throwing her belongings
29-year-old Deidre Kyzer had a domestic altercation with her sister, Kathryn Kyzer, at their family home on Gordon Lane in the early hours of February 8th. When the officers arrived, they spoke with Kathryn, who advised them that her sister had been throwing away items belonging to their parents and was arguing with them about it. Then, Kathryn started throwing Deidre’s items in the hallway, trying to get her to understand what she was doing to her parents. This caused Deidre to push Kathryn in the chest and into the wall. Kathryn said that she pushed Deidre back to get away from her. Their parents, who witnessed the incident, corroborated Kathryn’s statement. Deidre stated she was not trying to put her hands on Kathryn and was trying to get her to stop touching her things and entering her room. Deidre Kyzer was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Diana Rivera assaults husband with phone, destroys mirrors on his truck during altercation
37-year-old Diana Marie Rivera had a domestic disturbance with her husband, Ramon Ramirez Rivera, in the early hours of January 24th. Officers were dispatched to Century Farms Hospital, where Ramon reported that his wife struck him four times in the face and five times with a cell phone. This resulted in multiple scratches on his ears and face. Then, Ramon said Diana also destroyed two side view mirrors on his pick-up truck. Many Melgar Marcia witnessed Diana destroying the mirrors on Ramon’s vehicle. Officers observed the injuries, and his ripped shirt was consistent with a struggle. Mrs. Rivera was taken into custody for vandalism and domestic assault on February 9th.
Shontarrius Word assaults ex-girlfriend for not making him something to eat
26-year-old Shontarrius Word had a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend, Miracle Sledge, at her residence on Mountain Valley Drive late February 8th. Sledge stated that she and Word argued because he demanded that she make him something to eat. She then went to her son’s bedroom to pack. Word followed her and asked why she was packing before slapping the back of her head two to three times. She exited the room to get her cell phone charger and told him not to be loud because he would wake the kids. Then, she had her hand on the bedroom door frame when he said, “F*ck you, you are going over to that n*gga’s house,” and slammed the door a couple of times on her hand, leaving a small cut on her right middle finger. She called the police, and Word left the area. Word returned as she was being transported to the hospital for medical attention, but initially did not provide his information, claiming to be her friend. Then, Word said he never assaulted her, but she hit him. Officers deemed him as the primary aggressor, and Word was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Oluwanifemi Fadero forces roommate onto second-story balcony during argument over cleaning
23-year-old Oluwanifemi Albert Fadero had a dispute with his roommate, Philip Olapade, at their shared Dr DB Todd Jr Boulevard residence on the morning of February 8th. Olapade reported that he and Fadero argued over cleaning the apartment. Fadero then grabbed and forced Olapade out of the apartment onto the second-story balcony, nearly causing him to fall. During this time, Olapade’s phone fell out of his hand and hit the ground, damaging it. Then, Olapade left to get the police. Officers spoke with Fadero when they arrived, and he confirmed Olapade’s statements, admitting to forcing him out of the house in anger. Olapade did not wish to prosecute for the incident. Due to his admission, Fadero was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Devion Sanford caught parking stolen Range Rover behind abandoned property
20-year-old Devion Wendell Devonte Sanford had possession of Burton Verner’s black Range Rover on Welworth Street in the early hours of February 8th. Officers were dispatched regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in the backyard of an abandoned property. The front door had no trespassing signs from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. Sanford exited the Range Rover and walked away when the officers arrived. The tag showed that the vehicle was reported stolen out of Brentwood. Sanford was detained, and the keys to the car were found on his person. He admitted to knowing it was stolen but insisted that he did not steal it. Sanford was taken into custody for theft of property.
Booster Tatyana Burgess jailed after stealing over $2,000 in merchandise across multiple incidents
25-year-old Tatyana Burgess was taken into custody for three counts of theft on February 8th. On April 25th, 2023, Burgess stole $520 worth of merchandise from Academy Sports on Gallatin Pike North and fled before officers arrived. Then, on December 21st, 2023, Mark Wagner, a loss prevention officer, observed Burgess and an unknown individual walk into the Old Navy at Tanger Outlet Mall on Cane Ridge Road, each carrying a bag. Then, Burgess took clothes off the shelves and brought them to the unidentified individual so they could place them in their bags. Once the bags were filled with $1,854.54 worth of items, they walked past the points of sale and left the location. Then, on January 2nd, Burgess and two others, one female and one male, entered the GAP at Tanger Outlet Mall. Burgess walked around the store removing security tags and handing clothes to the male, who concealed them in a blue plastic bag before they left without paying. Officers used store video footage, TN DL pictures, and Facebook to help identify Burgess. Burgess has a history of shoplifting charges in multiple states.
Noah McWilliams caught trespassing in woman’s home by maintenance man
22-year-old Noah Ray McWilliams entered Rolanda Amos’ residence without permission on February 8th. A maintenance man working at the location witnessed McWilliams enter the residence. Once inside, Rolanda Amos observed McWilliams in a bedroom of the home. Amos then yelled at him to leave the home before running outside and calling the police. Around 20 minutes later, officers arrived and spoke with Amos, who advised that McWilliams was still inside. Officers located him in the rear bedroom on the first floor. There were no signs of damage or theft. McWilliams did not have valid identification and did not qualify for a citation, so he was taken into custody for aggravated criminal trespass.
