52-year-old Terrence Harris was observed sleeping in his white Chevy Tahoe with the engine running near a North 5th Street residence early May 19th. Officers noticed the Tahoe in the middle of the roadway and approached it, where they located Harris, who was waking up. Officers had him exit his vehicle, during which he showed signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol. Harris refused to take sobriety tests, so officers detained him. After officers informed Harris of implied consent, he declined to provide a chemical sample. During a subsequent search of his Tahoe, officers found an open bottle of Hennessy behind the center console. Harris was taken into custody for driving under the influence, an open-container violation, and an implied consent violation.
