29-year-old Eugenia Nelson was involved in a domestic altercation with her sister, Jada Wheeler, near John Siegenthaler Pedestrian Bridge on Second Avenue on May 26th. Officers observed Wheeler upset at another officer after she had been kicked out of a bar. Officers thought she was leaving when they saw Wheeler walk towards Nelson and begin arguing with her. They then observed Nelson swing on Wheeler, who fell back into oncoming traffic. Officers then made contact with Wheeler and Nelson, who both stated that they were sisters and that it was okay. Nelson told officers that she was correcting her sister and was “just trying to save Barstool security” from Wheeler. Officers informed Nelson that Wheeler was nowhere near any security officers, and the hitting was unjustified, even if they were sisters. Nelson was then taken into custody for domestic assault.
