58-year-old Katherine Powell was taken into custody for indecent exposure and vandalism on May 25th. On May 24th, Shawn Dillard, the Dickerson Pike MAPCO Gas Station manager, alerted the authorities, advising them that Powell pulled her pants down and used the bathroom right next to the entrance/exit door of the establishment. He added that she came in and asked to use the bathroom, but someone was inside already. Then, Dillard stated she went outside, stood next to the ice cooler, and defecated on the sidewalk. Dillard then immediately called the police. Officers observed the security footage of the incident, which clearly showed her walking into the business, exiting, turning left, walking a few steps, pulling her pants down, and defecating on the sidewalk for 30 to 60 minutes. Powell created a “bio-hazard condition” that required MAPCO employees to clean the fecal matter off the sidewalk. Powell was taken into custody for the incident on May 25th.
Katherine Powell of Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on May 25th, charged with vandalism and indecent exposure. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $1,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave her pre-trial release from their facility.
