19-year-old Christopher Deangelo Martinez-Gonzalez had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Leslie Angeles-Vera, at their Dumas Drive apartment around 6:39 p.m. on June 15th. Upon arrival, officers located them and observed a broken doorframe and several of their items spread out over the unit. After officers separated them for questioning, Martinez-Gonzalez stated that he found out Angeles-Vera had been cheating on him, which upset him. Then, Martinez-Gonzalez said he got in her face, and she told him to move. When he did not, Angeles-Vara slapped him and pushed him away. Martinez-Gonzalez then told officers he left and went to the carwash. When he returned, he discovered that Angeles-Vara had locked him out of his residence. Martinez-Gonzalez broke the window and entered the apartment, sparking another dispute where he slapped her in the face, causing ringing in her ears. The couple then started pushing each other and throwing items around the apartment. Angeles-Vera spoke with officers and told them a similar statement, admitting to slapping Martinez-Gonzalez because he got in her face. She added that she was in fear since he had been aggressive with her in the past but did not want to press charges for the incident. Martinez-Gonzalez was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
