32-year-old Elijah Miller threatened his instructor, Rhonda Evans, in their classroom at Fortis Institute on June 3rd. Officers were advised that Miller attempted to enter the class but did not have the required materials. Ms. Evans then turned Miller away, which upset him. Miller started threatening to shoot Ms. Evans and Ms. Gulley before threatening to shoot up the whole school. Later that day, there were several shots fired at the school. Following this, another teacher, Brittany Landrey, felt it may have been Miller, so she called him to ask. Miller told Landrey, “It was not me this time, but it will be next time,” placing the teachers in fear for their lives. A warrant was issued for his arrest on June 11th. Miller was taken into custody for threatening mass violence in school on June 14th.
