28-year-old Samuel Kirby Hardin was seen towing a boat that nearly hit multiple docks at Blue Turtle Bay Marina around 4:45 p.m. on June 23rd. When officers arrived, they observed him exhibiting “great difficulty” in docking and angrily yelling at an individual trying to assist him. Afterward, Hardin approached and spoke with officers. During this, they noticed he reeked of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. Hardin admitted to drinking Twisted Tea and a vodka shot before coming to Blue Turtle Bay Marina. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and after being read implied consent, he agreed to provide a blood sample. Officers later discovered that he had been convicted of DUI in 2017 and DUI-2nd offense in 2021 in Georgia. Hardin was then taken into custody for boating under the influence-3rd offense.
