25-year-old Martin Miranda was involved in a domestic altercation with his ex-girlfriend Naishalee Martinez at their Shady Hills Dickerson Pike residence on July 3rd. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Miranda. Miranda called the officers because Martinez’s mother was at home, and he wanted her to leave. When officers talked to Martinez, she stated that her mother was only at the location because she told her that Miranda had struck her. Martinez told officers that she was in bed when Miranda asked her if she was seeing someone else, to which she responded that she was, making Miranda angry. After this, Miranda kept asking her to give him a high-five. When she told Miranda no several times, he proceeded to hit her hand, which caused her phone to hit her in the face. Officers then went back and spoke with Miranda again. Miranda then admitted to the unwanted high-fives but claimed that Martinez was exaggerating and that the phone hitting her face wasn’t his fault. He told officers that Martinez made up the part about the phone hitting her because he told her he would be taking the vehicles in their breakup. Due to the statements made and the admission of guilt, Miranda was deemed the primary aggressor and taken into custody for domestic assault.
