38-year-old Mirwais Habibi was involved in a domestic altercation with Nagis Habibi at their Skyline Ridge Drive apartment on June 28th. When officers arrived, Nagis told them she and Mirwais had been fighting for the last two days. Nagis stated that Mirwais slapped her in the face several times and that he also grabbed her by her left arm. Both incidents left bruising, which officers observed. Nagis said that two days later, on June 30th, Mirwais held a pillow on her face for a long time, causing her to fear for her life. According to Nagis, Mirwais left with her phone shortly after this. Nagis then walked to a neighbor’s house and called 911. Nagis also told officers that her two children were present during the assault. When officers spoke with Mirwais, he stated that he was very drunk and that he blacked out. According to Mirwais, he couldn’t remember if he hit the victim or not. Mirwais was then taken into custody for domestic assault on June 30th.
Mirwais Habibi was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on June 30th, charged with domestic assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $2,000.
