Ollie Curtis throws glass jar at boyfriend during drunken altercation

55-year-old Ollie Curtis was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Loy Mcvea, at their Banbury Drive residence on July 9th. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Curtis, who stated that McVea had been upset that she was talking on the phone with her friend Eric. Curtis then told officers that McVea then tried to grab her phone. In response to this, she threw a glass cup at him but told officers that it did not hit him. Curtis then claimed that McVea dragged her outside by the arm and took her phone before striking her in the head. While Curtis was speaking with the officers, they noticed the smell of alcohol on her breath, as well as Curtis’ inability to link the events together. Officers then spoke with McVea, who informed officers that Curtis had been drinking since the previous night. McVea stated that she had randomly become angry and threw a Mason jar at him. McVea then told officers that he ducked, but the glass jar had hit him in his left shoulder before shattering on the ground. McVea also told officers that he would never hit a woman and that Curtis was lying about him dragging her. Officers noticed that McVea also appeared intoxicated as he showed indicators of intoxication via his slurred speech and the smell of alcohol coming from him. Due to the statements made and Curtis admitting to throwing the mason jar, she was deemed the primary aggressor. Curtis was taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Marcus Young steals $23,710 worth of monitors from Radiology Alliance

37-year-old Marcus Young stole from Radiology Alliance’s 25th Avenue North storage locker multiple times between February and April 2024. In February, a witness noticed three Radiology monitors were missing from their storage. After four more monitors went missing in four weeks, the witness had become suspicious that someone was breaking into their unit, so they set up video surveillance. On April 23rd, the footage captured Young forcing open the lock and entering the unit. The building manager identified Young as a tenant at the location. The witness located three different eBay postings matching the three sets of missing Radiology monitors. The first post was on February 1st, the second was on March 8th, and the third was on April 15th. A subpoena to eBay confirmed Young owned the account selling the stolen equipment. Young had taken 2 RX560’s and 5 MX315W’s during the burglaries, totaling $23,710. Warrants were issued for his arrest on July 5th. Young was taken into custody for four counts of burglary and three counts of theft on July 9th.

Moises Garcia drunkenly curses at police after drinking Modelo beer #ModeloTime

23-year-old Moises Garcia caused a disturbance at the Linbar Drive Apartments on July 8th. Officers were called regarding a male Hispanic with a knife, later identified as Garcia, knocking at the door. When they arrived, they located Garcia in the apartment breezeway. Officers noticed Garcia was drinking a Modelo beer and appeared to be highly intoxicated. Then, officers tried to find out where Garcia lived, but during questioning, he drunkenly rambled and started cursing at them. Garcia was deemed a danger to himself and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

“Street Dad” James Baker confesses love to woman, sexually threatens her with baton

60-year-old James Baker sexually threatened Katherina Wrather with a baton at his East Old Hickory Boulevard apartment on July 8th. Wrather told responding officers she was hanging out with her friend, Lucas McClain, and his “street dad,” Baker, who looks after him. Then, she stated they went out to get a dog that one of their friends found with Wrather’s girlfriend, Jenna Brown. They all went to a WeGo station for a bus they were taking when Baker decided he did not want to hang out with Brown anymore since he thought she was annoying. After this, Baker, McClain, and Wrather got onto the bus and went to Baker’s apartment. Wrather slept in the room nearest the door and woke up to Baker lying next to her, confessing his love to her.  Wrather said Baker told her how happy she made him, but she did not share the same interest because he was too old. Then, when she tried to leave, Baker stated she could not go because she did not have a bus pass anymore since she lost it and that he would be her transportation going further. Wrather said that she texted Brown and had her come up with a story about one of her family members being in the hospital so she could leave. Baker told her she could go but that he would be coming with her and that they’d leave on his time, not hers. Then, Wrather said Baker pulled out a small baton, tapped her leg lightly, and threatened to use it as a whip for punishment, putting her in fear of bodily harm. Officers spoke with McClain, who corroborated Wrather’s statements, adding that he was “just there so nothing got too intense.” After this, the police observed messages between Brown and Wrather about Baker’s past actions of undressing women in their sleep and how Brown saw Baker cornering her to separate her from Wrather. Baker was then taken into custody for kidnapping.

Jose Medina kicks girlfriend in the back during altercation

27-year-old Jose Medina was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Yoklena Valdes, at their Broadstone SoBro apartment residence on 4th Avenue South on November 28th, 2023. On January 5th, 2024, officers spoke with an apartment complex employee who stated that Valdes came up to her and showed ring doorbell camera footage from November 28th, 2023. The footage shows Medina kicking Valdes in the back while they are walking in the hallway of the apartment complex. Staff recognized the individuals and identified their home to officers. Officers then attempted to contact Medina, but no one answered the door. Due to Medina being identified and there being a clear assault, he was charged with domestic assault. A warrant was then issued, and Medina was later taken into custody for domestic assault on July 8th, 2024.

Charlotte Ratliff attempts to run woman off road, threatens her with gun during altercation

61-year-old Charlotte Ratliff had an altercation with Phyllis Anderson at Anderson’s Mountain Springs Road apartment on July 5th. Anderson told responding officers that as she left Larry’s on Murfreesboro Pike, Ratliff attempted to run her off the road several times with her black Jaguar. Then, Anderson explained that Ratliff was waiting for her as she arrived home. Anderson stated that Ratliff exited her vehicle and reached into her window with a gun, telling her she would kill her. Anderson told Ratliff that she has a grandson, to which Ratliff responded by saying “f*ck your grandson.” Then, as Ratliff went back to her car, Anderson took pictures of her plates before she drove off. Anderson stated that Ratliff returned and started banging on her garage door, attempting to enter. Erica Carter, a witness, corroborated Anderson’s statements and noted that she did not observe a firearm in Ratliff’s hand during the interaction. Ratliff was later taken into custody for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on July 8th.

Tiffany Higgins attacks boyfriend with knife during argument over phone

27-year-old Tiffany Mahalia Higgins had a domestic incident with her boyfriend, Troy Williams, at her Bell Road apartment on June 25th. When officers arrived, Higgins and Williams mentioned an earlier incident that occurred late May 29th. At the time, they were dating and having relationship difficulties. Higgins stated that Williams had come over to her apartment to talk. Williams allegedly took her phone during their conversation, put it in his bag, and tried to leave. This prompted Higgins to attempt to retrieve the phone. Williams then grabbed her hand forcefully, leaving her in pain and causing her to release the bag. Higgins explained that she went to the kitchen, picked up a knife, and held it by her side, intending to intimidate Williams. Higgins noted that she kept the knife at her side the entire interaction. Williams told officers that while they struggled over the bag, Higgins grabbed a knife from the kitchen. Williams stated that she lunged at him in a threatening manner. Williams explained that he only grabbed and squeezed her hand until she dropped the knife. Williams added that he feared getting stabbed during the altercation. Following the altercation, Williams reported that he picked up the knife and used it to damage Higgins’ vehicle. A warrant was issued for Higgins’ arrest on June 26th. Higgins was later taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on July 8th.

DUI: Judith Aldridge crashes car on I-24 West after having 2 whiskey sprites at an “unknown gay bar”

67-year-old Judith Aldridge was involved in a single-vehicle accident on I-24 West on May 26th. Officers arrived and observed Aldridge in a large ditch on the side of the highway. Aldridge told officers that her ribs were sore, but she was okay. Once Aldridge was transported to the back of an ambulance, she refused to be transported to the hospital. This prompted officers to ask her to perform sobriety tests, which she agreed to. After struggling to stand, Aldridge stated that she would prefer to be transported to the hospital instead. While Aldridge was in the ambulance, she told officers that she went to an “unknown gay bar” downtown and had two drinks before she attempted to drive home. After they arrived at the hospital, Aldridge performed sobriety tests and demonstrated multiple indicators of intoxication. Officers then read implied consent and informed Aldridge about her Miranda Rights, which she agreed to. During questioning, Aldridge confessed to drinking two whiskey sprites before driving home. Officers searched Aldridge’s car and found a shooter-sized bottle of Jack Daniels. Aldridge claimed that the bottle was from an earlier instance. Officers then cited her for the violation that night. Aldridge was later booked on the citation of driving under the influence on July 5th.

Genaro Guevara races down Gallatin Pike at 100mph in Camaro LT1, tells police he was “Just Driving”

25-year-old Genaro Tellez Guevara was observed speeding, following another vehicle, appearing to race in his Red Camaro LT1 near the Hart Lane and Gallatin Pike intersection late June 27th. Officers observed them going 100 mph in a 40-mph zone, during which Guevara weaved in and out of traffic, disregarding other drivers. Then, officers caught up to him and conducted a traffic stop. Guevara told police he didn’t know the other driver and that he was “just driving.” Guevara was cited for the incident that day. Guevara was later booked on the citation of drag racing and reckless driving on July 5th.

Wesley Raybon punches security guard at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar for laughing at him

24-year-old Wesley Raybon was seen being disorderly at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar on Broadway on July 10th. When officers arrived, they observed security walking Raybon out of the building in handcuffs. Officers spoke with security, who told them that Raybon was disturbing a bartender about vomit next to a trashcan. Security approached Raybon and asked him to leave because he appeared too intoxicated to be on the premises. Raybon then became aggressive, got in their faces, and threw a punch, which struck one of the guards. When officers came into contact with Raybon, he admitted that he swung at one of the guards and hit them. Raybon stated that he only did so because the security guard laughed at him, which made him angry. Raybon was then taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.
