25-year-old Francisco Javier Martinez Lopez drove with an individual with outstanding warrants near Old Hickory Boulevard and Clover Green Way on July 10th. Detectives observed this and tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled. Lopez drove the car across oncoming traffic lanes multiple times, causing significant risk to other drivers. Then, Lopez and the occupants abandoned the car on Concord Road. Lopez and the occupants fled on foot until detectives located them. During an interview under Miranda, Lopez admitted to driving the vehicle. An MNPD helicopter monitored the vehicle’s path and recorded Lopez entering the driver seat before the stop occurred. Lopez was then taken into custody for evading arrest by motor vehicle with risk of injury.
