Brandy Paull blacks out behind Knights Inn after snorting heroin

42-year-old Brandy Paull was seen publicly intoxicated behind Knights Inn on Bell Road on July 14th. Officers received a report of an unconscious woman behind a nearby motel who was not breathing. When officers arrived on the scene, they located Paull, who was lying unconscious in the parking lot. Paull was then given two doses of Narcan before she woke up. Upon waking up, paramedics told Paull that she almost died and suggested she be taken to a hospital in case the Narcan wore off. However, Paull refused any medical assistance and told officers that she had snorted heroin before blacking out. When officers found Paull, she had no shoes, phone, wallet, or identification. Officers deemed Paull to be a danger to herself, so she was then taken into custody for public intoxication on July 15th.

William Cunningham found passed out in lobby at Holiday Inn Express, tells police to “F*ck off”

34-year-old William David Cunningham caused a disturbance at the Holliday Inn Express on Broadway in the early hours of July 14th. The hotel staff told responding officers they found Cunningham sleeping in the lobby. Then, when the police approached him, they tried to wake him up, and he instructed them to “f*ck off!” Cunningham then refused to answer their questions and disregarded their orders. During their interaction, officers noticed he reeked of alcohol and was visibly intoxicated, so they detained him for the occurrence. Cunningham was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Teylor Davis assaults police officer on Broadway for not helping her

26-year-old Teylor Davis had an altercation with Officer Giuseppe Scalzo around 2:30 a.m. on July 14th. Additional officers and Scalzo were investigating an unrelated incident when Davis approached them, wanting to talk about a prior event. Then, after Scalzo explained that he would assist her once he finished his current call, Davis became agitated and interrupted his investigation. Scalzo told Davis she needed to step back, causing her to become more hostile. This sparked an argument where Davis pushed Scalzo in the shoulder. Then, officers attempted to place her in handcuffs. However, Davis pulled her arms away, trying to break free from their grasp until they put her on the ground and detained her. She continued to be resistive as they placed her in the back of the patrol car. Davis was taken into custody for the assault of an officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

Jace Gray fights security after woman’s wallet was stolen at Margaritaville

23-year-old Jace Gray and his friend, De’Andre Barbee, caused a disturbance at Margaritaville around 2:13 a.m. on July 14th. Security at the location told responding officers that Gray and Barbee had been drinking at the bar all night. Gray overheard a woman say she had her phone stolen, which was when Gray approached security, demanding they check the cameras. When security informed him that they would have management review the footage, Gray became irate. Security then told him he needed to leave the bar. After Gray refused, security grabbed and shoved him outside the bar, sparking a scuffle between them. When officers tried to detain Gray, he started resisting until they performed a controlled takedown. While they escorted him to the patrol car, he dropped his body weight, refusing to be escorted. Officers then picked him up from the ground and into their vehicle. During their interaction, they noticed he reeked of alcohol and was visibly impaired. Gray was taken into custody for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.

DUI: Jacob Hooper speeds down Ellington Parkway south at 81 mph, says he was following the flow of traffic

27-year-old Jacob Hooper was observed speeding in his black Hyundai Sonata down Ellington Parkway South near Mile Marker 12.2 around 11:38 p.m. on July 13th. Officers noticed him going 81 mph in a 55 mph zone and conducted a traffic stop on Douglas Avenue. During the traffic stop, they discovered Hooper reeked of alcohol and exhibited signs of intoxication. Hooper stated that he did not realize he was going that fast and believed he was following the flow of traffic. Hooper then further explained that he had been coming from a friend’s house off Rivergate Parkway, where he had two Jell-O shots and smoked a THC vape. Then, he consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and, after being informed of implied consent, agreed to provide a blood sample. After being transported to St. Thomas Midtown Hospital, Hooper was taken into custody for driving under the influence on July 14th.

Stuart Archer attacks multiple people at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar, tells police “nothing had happened”

23-year-old Stuart Christopher Archer was involved in a scuffle on the third floor of Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar shortly after midnight, July 14th.  Security for the establishment flagged officers down and advised them that he had attacked several individuals before their arrival. Then, when police spoke with Archer, he stated he “did not know what was going on” and that “nothing had happened.” During their interaction, Archer could not find his identification and showed signs of intoxication. Archer nearly fell multiple times as officers helped him walk down a flight of stairs. After this, they reviewed footage of the altercation, corroborating staff security’s statements. Archer was deemed a danger to himself and taken into custody for public intoxication.

DUI: 85-year-old Christine Powell swerves between lanes after drinking “two vodkas”

85-year-old Christine Powell was seen traveling over the fog line in a white Buick sedan on July 13th. Powell abruptly braked before she was close to the stop bar on Franklin Limestone Road, causing other vehicles to do the same. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. When officers made contact with Powell, they noticed her showing signs of intoxication as well as the smell of alcohol coming from her car. Powell was asked how many drinks she had, to which she confessed that she had “two vodkas.” Powell acted very slow to officers’ requests for her driver’s license, registration, and insurance. This led to officers asking her to perform sobriety tests. Powell consented but performed “extremely” poorly on them. Officers read her implied consent, and she refused to provide a blood sample. Powell was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent violation.

DUI: Allison Kwilos drives erratically down Highway 70 South with blown-out tire

40-year-old Allison Kwilos was seen driving with a blown-out tire on Highway 70 South on July 13th. Officers were alerted by three witnesses that a drunk driver was driving erratically with damage to the front end of their vehicle. Witnesses continued to get Kwilos to stop driving until officers arrived. Once officers arrived at the Walgreens parking lot, they tried to speak with Kwilos, who reeked of alcohol. Kwilos was asked for her ID, but she told officers she could not remember where she parked. Kwilos quickly started to get angry with the officers and walked off to call her attorney. Officers detained Kwilos to ensure she did not leave the scene. Kwilos was asked how she arrived at the location and said she drove her mother’s car there. Kwilos added that she wanted to report how the witnesses stopped her from driving. Kwilos then admitted that she was intoxicated but noted that it was a night prior. Kwilos refused to conduct any tests and denied implied consent. When asked how drunk she was on a scale of one through ten, she stated that she was a five if coffee was involved. Officers later found five empty containers of alcoholic beverages inside Kwilos’ car. Allison Kwilos was then taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, open container violation, and implied consent violation.

“BunMom” Erica Cowing punches boyfriend in head during drunk altercation

40-year-old Erica Cowing had a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Jesse Ceballos, at a Preston Run residence late July 12th.  When officers arrived, they observed Cowing sitting on the floor in the master bedroom behind the door and Ceballos standing in the living room. Cowing was very uncooperative and reeked of alcohol when describing what happened to the officers. Ceballos told officers that he was in bed when Cowing entered the room aggressively, causing him to get out of bed. Ceballos stated that as he tried to exit, Cowing shoved and punched him on the right side of his head. Ceballos said he tried calling 911, but Cowing took his phone, so he used his mother, Maria Ceballos’ phone. Maria, who witnessed the entire incident, spoke with officers and corroborated Jesse’s statements. Cowing was then deemed the primary aggressor. Cowing was taken into custody for domestic assault and interfering with a 911 call on July 13th.

Chad Kates speeds down Rosa Parks Boulevard at 80 mph in Chevy Spark, tells police his car “only has 100 horsepower”

23-year-old Chad Kates was seen in a silver 2018 Chevy Spark speeding out of the Waffle House parking lot on Clarksville Pike at 5 a.m. on July 13th. The vehicle was seen driving so recklessly that officers believed it was stolen. Officers followed the car while it continued to accelerate at a high speed. The vehicle was observed committing numerous traffic violations while pulling away from officers going 80 mph. Officers noted that the Chevy Spark was going at least double the speed limit on Rosa Parks Boulevard. In fear for the safety of other drivers, they activated their emergency lights in an attempt to stop the car. The vehicle was very slow to stop, but it eventually stopped on Athens Way. When officers made contact with the driver, who was later identified as Kates, they asked him if he had any reason to be a driver that fast. Kates responded that his car “only has 100 horsepower” and denied doing anything wrong. Upon further investigation, it was found that according to General Motors, a Chevy Spark’s top speed is about 117 mph. Using this information, officers determined that Kates was driving near the maximum speed his car can travel. Chad Kates was taken into custody and charged with drag racing and reckless endangerment.
