23-year-old Jace Gray and his friend, De’Andre Barbee, caused a disturbance at Margaritaville around 2:13 a.m. on July 14th. Security at the location told responding officers that Gray and Barbee had been drinking at the bar all night. Gray overheard a woman say she had her phone stolen, which was when Gray approached security, demanding they check the cameras. When security informed him that they would have management review the footage, Gray became irate. Security then told him he needed to leave the bar. After Gray refused, security grabbed and shoved him outside the bar, sparking a scuffle between them. When officers tried to detain Gray, he started resisting until they performed a controlled takedown. While they escorted him to the patrol car, he dropped his body weight, refusing to be escorted. Officers then picked him up from the ground and into their vehicle. During their interaction, they noticed he reeked of alcohol and was visibly impaired. Gray was taken into custody for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and resisting arrest.
