28-year-old Keyonia Moss was involved in a domestic altercation with her mother, Kizzy Jones, on July 13th. When officers arrived, Moss told them that Jones assaulted her and that she wanted to go to the hospital in an ambulance. Moss stated that she was trying to clean a vent inside their hotel room when suddenly Jones attacked her, causing a minor scratch under her eye. When officers spoke with Jones, she informed them that she was the one who paid for the hotel. As Moss pulled apart the air vent to clean it, Jones told her to stop, but she refused. Jones then tried to take the filter from Moss, causing Moss to scratch her. Moss continued to attack Jones until Jones defended herself, causing Moss to be injured. Officers later made contact with Moss’ sister, who witnessed the events. She corroborated Jones’ statements and stated that Jones was only trying to defend herself. Moss was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault on July 14th.
Keyonia Moss was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on July 14th, charged with domestic assault. A judicial commissioner set her bond at $1,500.
