DUI: Troyvorius Brunson swerves between lanes on I-24 East after having multiple shots

30-year-old Troyvorius Brunson was seen driving under the influence while in possession of a handgun while on I-24 East on July 28th. Officers observed a vehicle that could not maintain its lane and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, officers had Brunson exit his vehicle, and while stepping out, Brunson was unsteady on his feet. Officers spoke with Brunson and noticed the strong smell of alcohol coming from his breath. During the conversation, Brunson had also admitted to officers that he was driving to Nashville and that he had been drinking with friends. Officers then relocated Brunson to a nearby Thornton gas station to perform sobriety tests. During the tests, Brunson showed numerous indicators of impairment. After completing the tests, officers asked Brunson how many drinks he had, to which he admitted to having five to six shots. While officers were performing sobriety tests, another officer remained by Brunson’s vehicle so they could tow it away. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located a handgun within immediate reach of the driver in the center console. Brunson was then taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a weapon while under the influence.

Nahum Sanchez pulls girlfriend’s hair after accusing her of cheating

35-year-old Nahum Sanchez had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Cerda Lucio Claudia Elizabeth, at their Orlando Avenue residence late July 28th. Elizabeth was crying as she told responding officers that Sanchez had been drinking and had become verbally aggressive with her. She stated that Sanchez accused her of cheating, making remarks saying, “If I find out who you are cheating on me with, I will kill them or you.” Elizabeth further explained that she and Sanchez were in bed when she reached for her phone. She explained that he grabbed her hand and applied his body weight onto it when she reached for her phone. Elizabeth stated this caused immediate pain to her pointer finger. Elizabeth also told officers that she tried separating herself from Sanchez, but he grabbed her hair and pulled it. Elizabeth’s daughter witnessed the incident and told officers that she yelled at Sanchez to stop before grabbing her grandmother’s cane and running upstairs to defend Elizabeth. Sanchez was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

Osama Youssef strangles wife unconscious during during argument

48-year-old Osama Youssef was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Sherin Hakim, on July 27th. When officers arrived at the crime scene, they observed a white vehicle pulling out of the driveway and immediately driving off. Officers then noticed everybody in the residence’s front yard pointing toward the vehicle and claiming that the suspect was in the vehicle. After this, officers followed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, where they made contact with Youssef. While speaking with Youssef, they had him step out of the vehicle, and another officer had radioed him that Youssef allegedly had strangled Hakim. Youssef was then detained and placed in the back of the officer’s patrol vehicle. After a short amount of time, officers were advised that there were visible injuries to Hakim, so Youssef was informed that he was now in custody.

When asked what happened, Youssef admitted to officers that he had been in an argument with Hakim but denied ever getting physical. While Youssef was being questioned, another officer spoke with Hakim, and she claimed that they had been in an argument earlier in the day. Hakim informed officers that the argument had moved from a common room in the house to the bedroom, where things escalated. Hakim alleges that once they both were in the bedroom, Youssef locked the door and started getting physical with her. Hakim says that Youssef had grabbed her throat with one hand and began striking her in the face with his other hand. Hakim also claims that she lost the ability to breathe and had a moment of lost consciousness but does not know how their altercation ended due to her losing consciousness. Due to the statements made and injuries observed, Youssef was then taken into custody for aggravated assault on July 28th.

Joshua Packer attempts to run over traffic officer at Nashville International Airport

46-year-old Joshua Packer was seen attempting to hit a traffic enforcement officer, Matthew Kimble, with his black Acura at the Nashville International Airport on July 23rd. As officers were about to arrive, Kimble informed them that Packer had driven off. Kimble then told them that Packer had parked his car and walked toward him aggressively. Once officers arrived, they observed Packer walking from Kimble to his car, so they told him to stop. However, Packer ignored officers and continued to get in his vehicle. Officers approached Packer’s car and informed him that he was being detained, to which he replied, “OK,” and then sped off.

After running the tags on the vehicle, Packer was identified as the driver. Body cam footage was later provided of Kimble attempting to block an area to get Packer a better location to park and Packer disregarding him. Packer was then seen continuing to drive toward Kimble, to the point that Kimble had to move out of the way not to get hit. Joshua Packer was later found and taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and evading arrest on July 28th.

Richard Rumpf yells at American Airlines staff while drunk at Nashville International Airport

55-year-old Richard Stephen Rumpf caused a disturbance at Nashville International Airport on the afternoon of July 27th. Nashville Airport Police Department officers received a call regarding an intoxicated individual, later identified as Rumpf, who was yelling at American Airlines staff. When officers arrived, they observed Rumpf matching the description provided by dispatch as he stumbled up the concourse, screaming at the person he was on the phone with. Then, after officers stopped Rumpf, they noticed he reeked of alcohol and was belligerent. He could not reach someone to pick him up and was deemed a danger to himself. Because of this, Rumpf was detained for the incident. Rumpf was then taken into custody for public intoxication.

Shabiki Simon stabs husband at his “friend’s” house after he refuses to show her his phone

35-year-old Shabiki Simon had a domestic altercation with her husband, Sherwayne Hutson, at his “friend’s” Glengarry Drive residence on July 27th. Responding officers spoke with Simon, who stated that Hutson had been away from their home for a while and that she called him this morning. She said he told her that his phone was on 1% and that he was at his friend’s house. Simon further explained that she went to the location and confronted Hutson about his lies. Simon then asked for Hutson’s phone so she could see if it was on 1%, and after he refused, she grabbed his shirt, demanding that he give it to her. Then, Simon stated that Hutson pushed her to the ground and had his hands around her neck, “choking” her. She added that Hutson asked her to let go of his shirt while he was still on top of her before she stabbed him in his abdominal area. During the investigation, Simon said she grabbed a knife while on the way to Glengarry Drive because she felt like she might need it for protection.

Then, when Hutson spoke with officers, he told them that Simon showed up at his friend’s house and was mad at him. Hutson then advised that Simon punched him in the neck before he pushed her to the ground. Hutson held her there until Simon said she was calling the police. Hutson noted that after this, he let go of her and stood up, which was when Simon grabbed a knife and stabbed him. According to witnesses, Hutson was seen on top of Simon, holding her hands to the ground after she charged at him and grabbed his shirt. Officers determined that Simon was the primary aggressor. Hutson was transported to Vanderbilt with a serious knife wound. Simon was transported to Southern Hills Hospital for medical evaluation due to the alleged strangulation. Simon was later taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Roxanne Moya punches police officer after shoving her ID in their face at Barstool Nashville

29-year-old Roxanne Elaine Moya caused a disturbance at Barstool Nashville in the early hours of July 27th. Security at the establishment flagged officers down, advising them that Moya, who was highly intoxicated, had been denied entry and refused to leave the location. When the police spoke with Moya, she showed signs of intoxication. Moya continued to shove her driver’s license in the security officer’s face and was being a public annoyance. A friend of hers, who officers deemed relatively sober, told them he would get her home and exited the Barstool line. While escorting Moya from the premises, she put her license in the officer’s face. She then punched the officer in the face, causing them to fall to the ground. Moya continued to be combative until officers secured her in handcuffs. Moya was then taken into custody for disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and assault on an officer.

Emmanuel Fatokun passes out outside Friends in Low Places bar, refuses to believe officers are real cops

33-year-old Emmanuel Fatokun was found unconscious outside the Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk on July 28th. When officers made contact with Fatokun, it took them around 2 minutes to wake him up. While doing this, officers noticed the smell of alcohol coming from Fatokun, as well as the fact that he had urinated on himself. Once Fatokun was escorted inside a patrol car, he began to be verbally aggressive toward officers. During further interaction with Fatokun, it was observed that he couldn’t remember his birthday and did not believe officers were actual members of law enforcement.

Officers deemed Fatokun a danger to himself, so he was taken into custody. Once officers arrived at booking, Fatokun began pulling away from them and then started lying on the ground. After being transferred to DCSO, it was found that Fatokun had a small bag containing marijuana in his belongings. Emmanuel Fatokun was later charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and contraband in a penal institution.

Paula Wheeler resists arrest after refusing to leave Thompson Nashville hotel

55-year-old Paula Jean Wheeler caused a disturbance at Thompson Nashville on 11th Avenue South late July 28th. Before officers arrived, they confirmed that the establishment had a valid trespass waiver on file. When officers responded to the hotel, they observed Wheeler in the lobby. Wheeler left the lobby and met with officers. Then, officers spoke with hotel security, who stated that Wheeler had entered the business and stayed for an extended amount of time before they asked if she was a guest. Wheeler told staff she wasn’t a guest and refused to leave the property. They added that when Wheeler became verbally aggressive, they alerted the authorities. Security further explained that Wheeler had left before the police arrived.
Then, about 20 minutes after the officers left, security said that Wheeler returned and was disorderly once again. While officers investigated, Wheeler was loud and uncooperative towards them. Wheeler initially refused to provide police with her information but eventually told them her name. However, when officers asked her for her social security number, she became agitated. Wheeler attempted to leave despite being told she was not free to. Then, the police tried to detain her, during which she tensed up and did not put her hands behind her back until they could handcuff her. Wheeler was taken into custody for criminal trespass and resisting arrest on July 29th.

Sheila Hill scratches & kicks police officers while resisting arrest at Nashville International Airport

49-year-old Sheila Hill was spotted resisting arrest while intoxicated at the Nashville International Airport on July 28th. Officers were called in response to a woman who seemed to be in distress. When they arrived, they found Hill, who appeared to be intoxicated, with red, watery eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol on her breath. Despite officers deeming Hill able to continue with her plans as she did not require their assistance, airport staff informed them that she had been denied boarding due to appearing heavily intoxicated. Hill, now not having a scheduled flight that day, was asked to leave the airport’s secure area. As Hill and the officers were walking towards the exit, she became aggressive, using foul language, making repetitive statements, and loudly questioning the officers.

Hill then began screaming, disrupting the activities of nearby businesses. The officers informed Hill that she was being arrested for public intoxication. Despite this, Hill started resisting, but officers were eventually able to handcuff her. Hill resisted further by dropping her weight, kicking at the officers, scratching them with her nails, and trying to pull away. Throughout the encounter, Hill refused to walk, go downstairs, or get into patrol vehicles. When she was placed inside the officer’s patrol vehicle, she began kicking the windows and hitting her head against the vehicle. Hill was then taken into custody and later charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
