28-year-old Paige Kaitlin Empey was observed shoplifting at Nordstrom on Abbott Martin Road in the evening hours of March 20th. Responding officers spoke with a loss prevention officer, Tyrell Luture Rutledge, who stated he witnessed Empey entering the store with an empty bag. Rutledge stated Empey then grabbed multiple items from the clothing rack and went to the changing room.
Rutledge added that Empey exited the changing room without the merchandise in her hands, which was when he detained her at the exit. Then, he told officers that he found stolen items in her bag, totaling $263.90. The police were advised that Empey had a magnet in her purse that disables the alarm attached to the clothing. She was then cited for the occurrence. Empey failed to appear in court and was jailed for theft on July 31st.
Paige Kaitlin Empey of Stacy Drive in Nashville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on July 31st, charged with theft. She was released on her own recognizance.
