Dognapper Brittany Buchanan steals man’s PlayStation 4 & his $5,000 Cane Corso named “Jewels”

19-year-old Brittany Elizabeth Buchanan had an altercation with her intimate partner, Cedric Malone, at his West Trinity Lane apartment around 1:04 a.m. on July 21st. When officers arrived, they spoke with Malone, who stated that he confronted Buchanan because he believed she had stolen $600 from his debit card on July 17th. This sparked an argument between the couple. As they argued, Buchanan had a knife in her hand, threatening Malone and causing him to fear for his life. Then, Malone told officers he tried to get his dog and leave. As he did this, Buchanan stated, “You’re not getting anything!” She then started hitting him in the head with a set of keys. Following this, Malone ran out of the apartment, and Buchanan stole his $5,000 gray Cane Corso named “Jewels.” When he returned, he alleged she had stolen his PlayStation 4 console and his dog. Buchanan was later taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and robbery on July 22nd.

Alyssa Broadway-Rogers kicks hole in bedroom wall, assaults man after coming home from work

25-year-old Alyssa Broadway-Rogers was involved in a domestic incident with Langston Stevenson at their North Main Street residence at 11:21 p.m. on July 18th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Stevenson. Stevenson stated that when Rogers got home from work, she started acting aggressively toward him. Rogers then began throwing items and kicked a hole in a bedroom wall. Stevenson then provided officers with video footage that he recorded of Rogers charging at him while he was sitting on the living room couch. In the video, Rogers was observed swinging at Stevenson, grabbing him, and attempting to take his phone away from him while he was recording. After speaking with Rogers on July 19th., she was deemed the primary aggressor and was later taken into custody for domestic assault.

Christopher Griffith strangles man & breaks his nose after attacking him at Rippy’s Honky Tonk

22-year-old Christopher Bradley Griffith had an altercation with Dilrasingh Dhaliwal at Rippy’s Honky Tonk around 8:27 p.m. on July 20th. Officers were flagged down by security and advised that Dhaliwal had been assaulted and needed medical attention. When they arrived, they observed Dhaliwal bleeding severely from his head. Then, a witness, Sean Alex Miller, stated he was standing next to Dhaliwal when Griffith strangled him and started punching him repeatedly before taking him to the ground. Griffith then kept hitting Dhaliwal in the face until the scuffle was broken up. Miller said that Griffith ran out of the bar once the altercation was broken up but was stopped and detained by security at the location. Dhaliwal told officers he had lost consciousness from the hits and that NFD medics declared his nose broken. He was then transported to Centennial Hospital for further evaluation. Griffith did not provide a statement regarding the occurrence and was then taken into custody for aggravated assault on July 21st.

DUI: Caleb Cahours passes out in car after drinking several bottles of 99 Brand Peach Liquor

38-year-old Caleb Cahours passed out in his vehicle at the parking deck near the Batman AT&T Building around 3:20 a.m. on July 20th. Two individuals noticed this and flagged officers down, stating Cahours had his car door open and struck their car with it. They added that they tried waking him up several times but could not. When officers arrived, they found Cahours inside his vehicle with the engine on, his driver’s side door placed against another car, and keys in the ignition. Due to safety concerns, officers reached into his car and turned it off, during which they found several empty bottles of 99 Brand Peach Liquor in the driver’s door. After yelling numerous times, Cahours had woken up, appearing confused, reeked of alcohol, and was sweating profusely. Officers asked him to exit his vehicle and provide his driver’s credentials, which he refused. Cahours then started yelling at officers, so they detained him and prompted him with sobriety tests, but he refused to take them. After being informed of implied consent, Cahours declined to provide a chemical sample, denied that his car was on, and denied that he struck the other vehicles. During a subsequent vehicle search, police located six small bottles of liquor and an open container of Tito’s Vodka. Cahours was taken into custody for driving under the influence, failure to give information, an open-container violation, and an implied consent violation.

Tamara Veasley & her friend steal $2,288 from man they met on Broadway

38-year-old Tamera Veasley and Nana Wilson were caught committing fraud on May 20th. The victim of the incident, Degarett Newson, met with Wilson and Veasley in a bar on Broadway. Newson then returned with them to their Towneplace Suites Hotel. Once they got to the hotel, Newson had to step away to do something. While he was gone, Wilson and Veasley took his phone from him and left. When Newson returned, he noticed the women and his phone were gone. Newson then noticed that one of the women had left their phone. Newson called his phone, and one of the women answered. They came back and exchanged their phones, then left. Once the women were gone, Newson noticed that his phone’s password had been changed. The following day, Newson noticed a fraudulent Apple Cash payment of $1,313 and a Cash App transaction of $975 were completed while the women had his phone. Cash App provided law enforcement with Wilson’s information, including her name, date of birth, social security, and phone number as the account holder of the fraudulent transaction. Apple provided law enforcement with Tamara Veasley’s information, including her name, state of birth, social security number, and phone number for that payment. Surveillance footage from the hotel was reviewed, and investigators were able to identify Wilson and Veasley. On June 14th, investigators made contact with Wilson and Veasley during an unrelated incident for a similar offense. During a search of their vehicle, investigators found multiple articles of clothing that the women were seen wearing on camera during the incident. Veasley was later taken into custody for theft and two counts of fraud.

DUI: Brian Harris crashes his Ford F-150 into guardrail, tells police he “swerved to avoid an armadillo”

40-year-old Brian Edwin Harris crashed his silver Ford F-150 into the north-side metal guardrail along Poplar Creek Road around midnight on July 20th. When officers spoke with Harris, he told them he “swerved to avoid an armadillo” and that he did not need medical attention. During this, they discovered he had been arrested on March 30th, 2005, and convicted on July 19th, 2005, for driving under the influence. Officers observed him showing signs of impairment, so they prompted him with sobriety tests, to which he agreed and performed poorly. Then, Harris was Mirandized, and after being read implied consent, he refused to provide a chemical sample. After this, officers obtained a warrant for a blood sample and transported him to Nashville General Hospital for a blood draw. Harris was then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Jaden Collier breaks boyfriend’s phone after striking him multiple times

24-year-old Jaden Collier was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Keaire’ Newsome, at a parking lot on 4th Avenue South on July 20th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Newsome about the incident. Newsome stated that he and Collier got into an argument about leaving Broadway. Newsome informed officers that during the argument, Collier got aggressive and hit him multiple times. According to Newsome, he was struck in the face, body, and arms. Officers observed a small cut on Newsome’s lip. Newsome said that Collier grabbed his iPhone 13 and threw it on the ground, causing it to break. After officers observed the broken iPhone on the ground, Collier was taken into custody for domestic assault and vandalism.

Fishing Youtuber Sina Saadat assaults girlfriend for disciplining their son

49-year-old Fishing Youtuber Sina Saadat was involved in a domestic disturbance with the mother of his children and girlfriend, Zuhre Hosseini, at their Polk Forest Circle residence on July 19th. Hosseini contacted authorities, saying that Saadat was trying to kick her out of their house. When officers arrived, Hosseini, with her 12-year-old daughter translating for her, told officers she had punished one of her children for being defiant. Hosseini went on to say that the child told Saadat that she was hitting them, leading to him becoming upset with her. Saadat approached Hosseini, grabbed her arm, and pulled her towards the door. Hosseini did not want to leave due to her living at the residence. However, Saadat grabbed her arm and pushed her out the door anyway. Once Hosseini evaded Saadat, she ran to the bathroom and hid there until law enforcement arrived. Hosseini’s 12-year-old daughter informed officers that she witnessed the entire incident. She stated that her dad got upset, grabbed her mom’s arm, and tried forcing her out of the house. When officers spoke with Saadat, he told them that he was never forceful with Hosseini and that he lightly grabbed her arm in an attempt to get her to leave. Due to the statements from Hosseini and her daughter, Saadat was deemed the primary aggressor and taken into custody for domestic assault.

Jacob Rhea knocks woman out, fracturing her skull after shooting fireworks outside apartment

30-year-old Jacob Adam Rhea had an altercation with Kathleen Donavon outside her Davidson Street apartment around 7:30 p.m. on July 4th. On July 9th, officers were dispatched to the residence, where they documented a report that was later assigned to detectives, who called Donovon, who was still admitted to Vanderbilt Hospital, regarding the sustained injuries from the incident. She advised them that she observed Rhea outside her apartment shooting fireworks on July 4th. Donavon added that they reside on private property, which Rhea did not live at, so she asked him to stop, and he did. Then, Donovon explained that she, her fiancé, Sarah Potenza, and Doree Fisher left the location to watch the downtown fireworks. When they returned, they noticed Rhea in their apartment parking lot, shooting fireworks unsafely. Potenza asked Donovon to confront him because she felt unsafe. During their interaction, Rhea became aggressive and started yelling at Donovon. This sparked an argument, leading to Rhea punching Donovon in the face. Potenza and Fisher stated that after Donovon was hit, she hit her head on the asphalt and was unconscious for about three minutes. Another witness, Kirk Manz, provided medical aid and alerted the authorities. Detectives later spoke with Christine Rodriguez, Rhea’s friend, who told them she was present for the occurrence and provided them with Rhea’s name. She added that Rhea left before the officers arrived. Donovon informed detectives that she sustained a fractured skull and two brain bleeds from the scuffle. Officers later reviewed surveillance footage corroborating witnesses’ statements and conducted a photo lineup, where Potenza identified Rhea as the person in question. 30-year-old Florida Tourist Janine Eden caused a disturbance at This Bar late on July 21st. Security at the location flagged down officers and advised them that Eden had been denied entry because she tried to bring an outside drink inside and was overly intoxicated. After this, she became upset with them, threw a plastic cup at them, and then pushed one of the security guards. Officers noticed she reeked of alcohol and showed signs of impairment. Then, they reviewed footage of the occurrence, showing her getting aggressive with security staff and displaying fighting behavior with them. Eden was then taken into custody for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
