DUI: 85-year-old Christine Powell swerves between lanes after drinking “two vodkas”

85-year-old Christine Powell was seen traveling over the fog line in a white Buick sedan on July 13th. Powell abruptly braked before she was close to the stop bar on Franklin Limestone Road, causing other vehicles to do the same. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop. When officers made contact with Powell, they noticed her showing signs of intoxication as well as the smell of alcohol coming from her car. Powell was asked how many drinks she had, to which she confessed that she had “two vodkas.” Powell acted very slow to officers’ requests for her driver’s license, registration, and insurance. This led to officers asking her to perform sobriety tests. Powell consented but performed “extremely” poorly on them. Officers read her implied consent, and she refused to provide a blood sample. Powell was then taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent violation.

DUI: Allison Kwilos drives erratically down Highway 70 South with blown-out tire

40-year-old Allison Kwilos was seen driving with a blown-out tire on Highway 70 South on July 13th. Officers were alerted by three witnesses that a drunk driver was driving erratically with damage to the front end of their vehicle. Witnesses continued to get Kwilos to stop driving until officers arrived. Once officers arrived at the Walgreens parking lot, they tried to speak with Kwilos, who reeked of alcohol. Kwilos was asked for her ID, but she told officers she could not remember where she parked. Kwilos quickly started to get angry with the officers and walked off to call her attorney. Officers detained Kwilos to ensure she did not leave the scene. Kwilos was asked how she arrived at the location and said she drove her mother’s car there. Kwilos added that she wanted to report how the witnesses stopped her from driving. Kwilos then admitted that she was intoxicated but noted that it was a night prior. Kwilos refused to conduct any tests and denied implied consent. When asked how drunk she was on a scale of one through ten, she stated that she was a five if coffee was involved. Officers later found five empty containers of alcoholic beverages inside Kwilos’ car. Allison Kwilos was then taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, open container violation, and implied consent violation.

“BunMom” Erica Cowing punches boyfriend in head during drunk altercation

40-year-old Erica Cowing had a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Jesse Ceballos, at a Preston Run residence late July 12th.  When officers arrived, they observed Cowing sitting on the floor in the master bedroom behind the door and Ceballos standing in the living room. Cowing was very uncooperative and reeked of alcohol when describing what happened to the officers. Ceballos told officers that he was in bed when Cowing entered the room aggressively, causing him to get out of bed. Ceballos stated that as he tried to exit, Cowing shoved and punched him on the right side of his head. Ceballos said he tried calling 911, but Cowing took his phone, so he used his mother, Maria Ceballos’ phone. Maria, who witnessed the entire incident, spoke with officers and corroborated Jesse’s statements. Cowing was then deemed the primary aggressor. Cowing was taken into custody for domestic assault and interfering with a 911 call on July 13th.

Chad Kates speeds down Rosa Parks Boulevard at 80 mph in Chevy Spark, tells police his car “only has 100 horsepower”

23-year-old Chad Kates was seen in a silver 2018 Chevy Spark speeding out of the Waffle House parking lot on Clarksville Pike at 5 a.m. on July 13th. The vehicle was seen driving so recklessly that officers believed it was stolen. Officers followed the car while it continued to accelerate at a high speed. The vehicle was observed committing numerous traffic violations while pulling away from officers going 80 mph. Officers noted that the Chevy Spark was going at least double the speed limit on Rosa Parks Boulevard. In fear for the safety of other drivers, they activated their emergency lights in an attempt to stop the car. The vehicle was very slow to stop, but it eventually stopped on Athens Way. When officers made contact with the driver, who was later identified as Kates, they asked him if he had any reason to be a driver that fast. Kates responded that his car “only has 100 horsepower” and denied doing anything wrong. Upon further investigation, it was found that according to General Motors, a Chevy Spark’s top speed is about 117 mph. Using this information, officers determined that Kates was driving near the maximum speed his car can travel. Chad Kates was taken into custody and charged with drag racing and reckless endangerment.

DUI: Kimberly Webster found passed out drunk in 7-Eleven parking lot

48-year-old Kimberly Webster was seen sleeping in her car in the 7-Eleven parking lot on White Bridge Pike on July 13th. When officers contacted Webster, they observed that her car door was open and her brake lights were on. Webster’s car was parked and turned off before she was woken up. While doing this, officers noticed that there was a strong odor of alcohol coming from Webster, and she was exhibiting multiple other signs of intoxication. Webster told authorities that she had been drinking in Nashville and thought that she had driven to her house in Clarksville. Webster agreed to perform sobriety tests but showed several signs of impairment, so she was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

Tyler Morris assaults wife during argument at Cambria Hotel

45-year-old Tyler Morris was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Nicole Morris, at the Cambria Hotel on 8th Avenue Street on July 13th. When the officers arrived, they made contact with Nicole and immediately noticed a laceration on the right side of her head. Nicole told officers that she had gotten into an argument with Tyler. During this argument, she claimed she had fallen, which caused the injury to her head. When asked, Nicole further stated that Tyler did not assault or threaten her during the altercation. Officers then spoke with Tyler, who claimed that during the argument, Nicole attempted to hit him with a curling iron by swinging it at him. Tyler claimed that, in response to Nicole swinging the curling iron, he put his forearm up in defense and pushed Nicole away. This caused her to fall and hit her head on a wall corner. Both parties seemed intoxicated while speaking with officers, and neither wanted to prosecute. However, officers deemed Tyler to be the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault.

DUI: Kayla Richardson swerves between lanes after drinking liquor from pink Stanley Cup

34-year-old Kayla Richardson was seen in a black GMC Yukon failing to maintain her lane on Dickerson Pike on July 12th. Officers observed this and conducted a traffic stop, and Richardson was identified as the driver. When officers approached her, they noticed multiple signs of intoxication. Officers requested Richardson to perform sobriety tests. Richardson consented to the sobriety tests and showed numerous signs of impairment. After the tests, Richardson admitted to consuming an orange creamsicle drink that contained alcohol and two vodka sodas at a Nashville Sounds game. During a subsequent search of Richardson’s vehicle, officers found 13.5 grams of marijuana inside a purse and a pink Stanley cup containing liquor. Richardson was read implied consent, and she refused, so officers proceeded to take her into custody for driving under the influence, implied consent violation, and possession or casual exchange on July 13th.

Rhys Thomas unable to tell officers where he was after being kicked out of Canvas Lounge

40-year-old Rhys Thomas was seen being kicked out of Canvas Lounge on July 12th. Employees at the bar told officers that he was trying to re-enter the bar after he was removed. Employees also said that Thomas attempted to get into someone else car, thinking it was his. When officers made contact and spoke with Thomas, they observed the smell of alcohol coming from him. Thomas, showing signs of intoxication, could not tell officers where he was. Thomas told officers he was on James Robertson Parkway while on Fatherland Street. While officers handcuffed Thomas, he had to lean on them because he couldn’t keep his balance. Officers then deemed Thomas unable to care for himself. Thomas was then taken into custody and charged with public intoxication on July 13th.

De’Andre Barbee jailed after waiting for Uber inside Shake Shack

20-year-old De’Andre Barbee was seen trespassing at Shake Shack in downtown Nashville on July 12th. When officers arrived, the store’s management advised that Barbee was trespassing and causing a scene inside. Officers approached Barbee, who was seated at a table and on his phone. Barbee told officers that he was waiting on an Uber but was not a customer. Management informed officers that they trespassed Barbee on July 11th. Due to this, Barbee was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespassing.

Infiniti Tucker strikes sister in face multiple times for calling police on her

25-year-old Infiniti Tucker was involved in a domestic incident with her sister Destiny Tucker on July 9th. Officers were dispatched to Nashville’s East Police Precinct and met with Destiny. She stated she had gotten into a fight with Infiniti. Destiny told officers that during her interactions with Infiniti, she was being rude. In response, Destiny told Infiniti to calm down or she would call 911. According to Destiny, when she called 911 on Infiniti for continuing to be rude, Infiniti slapped her phone out of her hand. Infiniti then struck Destiny in the face several times. Officers observed multiple minor cuts on Destiny’s face. Infiniti was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault on July 12th.
