Monique Ward caught stealing at Target by “Skip-Scanning” at self-checkout

43-year-old Monique Latosha Ward was caught trying to steal merchandise from the Gallatin Pike North Target on June 4th. Loss Prevention Agent Grace Sanders alerted the authorities and advised them that Ward had entered the store and started concealing items in her bag. Sanders stated that Ward began “skip-scanning” at the self-checkout register and exited the store. After Ward walked out, she was confronted by loss prevention employees. Ward was then cited for the occurrence that day. Ward was booked on the citation of theft on June 26th.

Treasure Bolden found sleeping in man’s vacant home

26-year-old Treasure Bolden was seen trespassing at a Lemont Drive residence on June 30th. Officers responded to a break-in at the location. When officers arrived, they spoke with Ulises Lagunas, who said he and his wife were trying to sell the residence. When Lagunas arrived at the location to check on the home, he heard people conversing inside. He also observed Bolden in a bed through the window. Officers then entered the location to clear it per Lagunas’ request and located Bolden sleeping in one of the bedrooms. Officers also found two crack pipes next to her. Bolden was then taken into custody for criminal trespass and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Chennye Turbeville punches man in front of his son during argument

28-year-old Chennye Turbeville had a domestic altercation with Gary Harrington II at her Mercer Drive residence around 10:57 a.m. on June 30th. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Turbeville, who stated that she and Harrington II had argued. Turbeville stated the argument turned physical when Harrington II got in her face, causing her to push him away. Then, Harrington II told them that she asked him to leave the residence, and he refused. In response, Turbeville pushed his chest, grabbed onto his tank top, and started striking him repeatedly, ripping his shirt and leaving visible marks. Harrington II’s son said that he saw Turbeville punching his dad in the side of his face. When asked how Harrington II’s shirt was torn, Turbeville stated that when she pushed him, his shirt got caught on her finger and ripped. Turbeville was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Hannah Whittaker assaults boyfriend during argument over speaking to “members of the opposite sex”

19-year-old Hannah Lea Whittaker had a domestic incident with Matthew Carter at their Lutton Street residence on June 30th. Whittaker told responding officers that she and Carted had argued over them talking to the other sex, which she added was strictly verbal. Then, Carter advised officers that their dispute had turned physical and that he recorded it. Officers reviewed the video, which showed Carter turning his back while hearing sounds consistent with Whittaker hitting him. Whittaker was then taken into custody for domestic assault.

DUI: Matthew Pendergrass drives down I-24 East after drinking Jim Beam Vanilla

28-year-old Matthew Pendergrass was reported as a drunk driver on I-24 East at 6:14 a.m. on June 30th. When officers made contact with Pendergrass, they noticed he reeked of alcohol. After asking Pendergrass how much he had to drink, he told replied “Jim Beam Vanilla.” Pendergrass then stated that he had a couple of shots and mixed drinks. Pendergrass performed sobriety tests and performed poorly on all of them. Matthew Pendergrass was then taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Thomas Blackwell crashes his car after drinking two pints of beer at his job

64-year-old Thomas Blackwell was caught driving under the influence after a vehicle collision near Demonbreun Street and 2nd Avenue Street on June 30th. A woman flagged down officers and told them that she believed Blackwell to be under the influence. When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with Blackwell and immediately noticed the smell of alcohol coming from his breath. Officers also noticed his dilated pupils and glossy eyes. While speaking with officers, Blackwell admitted that he had consumed two pints of beer after his shift, before he started driving his vehicle. He also admitted to officers that he had been in traffic for an hour and a half, so that was how long ago he had consumed alcohol. Officers then asked Blackwell to perform sobriety tests, which he consented to. However, he performed poorly on one test and could not perform the others because of a medical issue with his feet. Blackwell was then deemed intoxicated and was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent.

Kedarian Morgan assaults, aggressively drags woman into home in front of Lyft driver

22-year-old Kedarian Morgan was involved in a domestic altercation with Caribbia Brunson, one of his intimate partners, at a Highland Trace Drive residence on June 29th. Officers received a call from Howard Mooneyham, who informed them he was a Lyft driver sent to the residence to pick someone up. Mooneyham stated that when he arrived, he saw a female crying and a male screaming at her. Mooneyham stated the man forced the woman back into the residence. Officers then received another call from a second person who stated that a man named Keith was holding his girlfriend hostage and that the caller had received a picture of her with blood on her face.

When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed both Morgan and Brunson with cuts on their bodies and fresh blood on their faces, legs, and feet. Both of them claimed that they were wrestling on the bed when they knocked over the lamp on the nightstand, which shattered some glass. Officers then spoke with Mooneyham over the phone, who claimed that Brunson came from the left side of the house and Morgan came from the other side and aggressively grabbed Brunson. Mooneyham claims that Brunson then began screaming, “Let me go!” before Morgan started calling her names and forced her back inside the residence. However, Mooneyham did not recall seeing Morgan hit Brunson outside. However, he is sure he had witnessed the aggressive grabbing and forceful dragging. When officers spoke with the second caller again, he said he had received a text message from Brunson’s friend saying she was in trouble. Officers observed a screenshot of the message to officers showing Brunson with a bloody face while crying. Morgan was then deemed a threat and a primary aggressor, so he was taken into custody for false imprisonment and domestic assault.

Jason Shelton indicted by Grand Jury for Home Improvement Fraud

A Davidson County Grand Jury has indicted 53-year-old Jason Shelton for one count of theft over $10,000 and one count of home improvement fraud between July 6th, 2022, and March 6th, 2023. The indictment alleges that Shelton attempted to defraud Tennessee Home Builders while acting as a new home construction contractor. Shelton was taken into custody on June 29th and charged with theft and home improvement fraud. A Judicial Commissioner set his bond at $15,000.

Aaliyah Lewis steals boyfriend’s PlayStation 5 because she thought he was with another woman

21-year-old Aaliyah Lewis stole from her boyfriend, Stacey Lamar Cross, at their White Bridge Pike residence on June 28th. On June 29th, Cross called the police to a Highway 70 South residence. Cross advised them that he left his home around 1 p.m. on June 28th and returned around 5 a.m. the next day from a night out with his co-workers. Cross discovered his PlayStation 5, cologne, and around $300-$400 cash were missing. Then, he informed police that Lewis texted him, admitting to entering his bedroom and taking his belongings. Cross added that he believed she did this after he did not return home and assumed he was out with another woman. Cross stated that Lewis told him he would not get his items back until he moved out of their residence. Lewis was then taken into custody for theft.
