Nana Wilson & her friend steal $2,288 from man they met on Broadway

37-year-old Nana Wilson and Tamara Veasley were caught committing fraud on May 20th. The victim of the incident, Degarett Newson, met with Wilson and Veasley in a bar on Broadway. Newson then returned with them to their Towneplace Suites Hotel. Once they got to the hotel, Newson had to step away to do something. While he was gone, Wilson and Veasley took his phone from him and left. When Newson returned, he noticed the women and his phone were gone. Newson then noticed that one of the women had left their phone. Newson called his phone, and one of the women answered. They came back and exchanged their phones, then left. Once the women were gone, Newson noticed that his phone’s password had been changed. The following day, Newson noticed a fraudulent Apple Cash payment of $1,313 and a Cash App transaction of $975 were completed while the women had his phone. Cash App provided law enforcement with Wilson’s information, including her name, date of birth, social security, and phone number as the account holder of the fraudulent transaction. Apple provided law enforcement with Tamara Veasley’s information, including her name, state of birth, social security number, and phone number for that payment. Surveillance footage from the hotel was reviewed, and investigators were able to identify Wilson and Veasley. On June 14th, investigators made contact with Wilson and Veasley during an unrelated incident for a similar offense. During a search of their vehicle, investigators found multiple articles of clothing that the women were seen wearing on camera during the incident. Wilson was later taken into custody for theft and two counts of fraud.

James Moss locks girlfriend in bathroom while she’s moving out, tells her “You ain’t going nowhere!”

30-year-old James Moss had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Christa McMahan, at their Jonesboro Drive residence on the afternoon of July 23rd. McMahan told responding officers she was arguing with Moss while packing her belongings to move out. During this, she said she went to the bathroom to grab some items. She stated Moss entered the bathroom, shut the door, and locked it. Her friend, Isabel Martinez, who witnessed and recorded the event, stated she heard him yell, “You ain’t going nowhere!” When officers spoke with Moss, he denied making that statement but admitted to going into the bathroom to talk to her and closing the door. Moss was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for false imprisonment.

Swen Johnson cat-calls & chases woman in Public Square Park

36-year-old Swen Johnson was caught after chasing and cat-calling Calista Bruner near Public Square Park on July 3rd. Bruner reported to officers that on July 3rd, she was walking her dog at the Public Square Park when she noticed Johnson approach her and start cat-calling her. She stated Johnson kept saying, “Hey baby, come here.” while chasing her. Bruner said she ran towards Printer Alley, where she was able to escape. On the following day, July 4th, Bruner was walking her dog again, and Johnson approached her once more near Public Square Park. Johnson then began cat-calling Bruner again, and she proceeded to run all the way back to her apartment. Johnson’s actions made Bruner fear for her safety, and on July 16th, she identified him as the person who was chasing her. A warrant was issued, and Johnson was taken into custody for assault on July 19th.

Vidal Colon assaults security guard at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk after his wife gets kicked out

45-year-old Vidal Colon fought with a security guard, Ian Matthew Ray, at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk on Broadway late July 23rd. When officers arrived, they met with security at the establishment. Officers then spoke with Ray, who told them that he was escorting Colon’s wife out of the bar when Colon came up behind him and pushed him. After this, security detained Colon and alerted the authorities. Colon was then taken into custody for assault on July 24th.

DUI: Shemar Robinson nearly hits taxi, points guns at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar security

21-year-old Shemar Robinson was spotted driving recklessly and pointing weapons at security at the Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar on Broadway on July 22nd. Police officers were near the Tin Roof on Broadway when they saw Robinson driving at high speed and approaching the intersection at 4th Avenue South. They also observed Robinson veering off the road and almost hitting a taxi van in the parking lane as he drove through the intersection. Robinson then stopped at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar, where officers saw him getting out of his vehicle and yelling at the bar’s security staff. The officers approached Robinson, suspecting that he was armed. Robinson then revealed two firearms and progressed towards the security staff. Observing Robinson’s body language, the officers drew their weapons, at which point he stopped and complied with the officers. Robinson informed the officers that his girlfriend could drive his vehicle so it wouldn’t be towed. Robinson then admitted that he was the only one intoxicated and that she was sober so she could drive the vehicle. Robinson was then taken into custody for possession of a handgun while under the influence, driving under the influence, reckless driving, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Youngwoo Hong strangles girlfriend during argument for leaving him at DMV

25-year-old Youngwoo Hong had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Morgan Bradshaw, at their Greenhills Manor apartment around 6:30 p.m. on July 23rd. Responding officers could not reach the couple until they called Bradshaw’s mother, who got them to open the door. Bradshaw told officers that she and Hong had multiple arguments throughout the day. Bradshaw noted that she started packing her things to leave when they returned to the apartment. Then, she said Hong restrained her, bear-hugging her from behind, and that he grabbed her when she tried exiting the unit, causing her to fall out. After this, he pulled her back into the residence, and once she fought back, he put her in a chokehold. Bradshaw explained that she could not breathe at certain times during their dispute, adding that she screamed, but Hong had covered her mouth. Hong then moved in front of her and began strangling her, to which she responded by grabbing him by the neck. Then Bradshaw eventually contacted her mother, who alerted the authorities. Bradshaw advised officers that she calmed Hong down following the incident. Officers observed visible marks that she sustained and then spoke with Hong. Hong stated they argued because she left him at the DMV but that no threats or acts of violence had occurred. When the police confronted him, he said that Bradshaw “choked” and slapped him. He then stated that he held her arms to make her stop. The police asked him why he wouldn’t let her leave if she had assaulted him, and he responded that he wanted her to apologize. After both parties were medically cleared, officers deemed Hong the primary aggressor. Hong was then taken into custody for aggravated assault and false imprisonment.

Vanessa Sylvester punches woman in face, threatens to take homeless man’s dog on Broadway

36-year-old Vanessa Sylvester fought at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row on June 22nd. When officers arrived, the victim said that while she was talking to a homeless man about his dog, Sylvester got aggressive with her, got into her face, and told her that she was going to take the homeless individual’s dog. The victim told Sylvester to back up, but Sylvester continued to get into her face until she was pushed away. Once pushed, Sylvester punched the victim in her eye, leaving a lump on the side of her face. When officers made contact with the homeless individual, they stated that Sylvester was the aggressor during the entire confrontation but added that they never saw her throw a punch. Officers were later provided surveillance footage of the incident from Lucky’s Bastard. It showed the victim sitting with the homeless individual, then Sylvester came up to them and began yelling. The victim is seen trying to calm down Sylvester, but is later seen pushing Sylvester after she gets in her face. That is when Sylvester punched the victim. Officers cited her for the violation that day. Sylvester was later booked on the citation assault on July 19th.

Daniela Lemus misses flight in Nashville International Airport after taking Xanax

21-year-old Daniela Lemus showed signs of impairment near the 8th Roast Coffee Shop on C-Concourse at Nashville International Airport around 12:47 p.m. on July 23rd. She swayed back and forth, then spilled coffee on her clothes and onto the floor. Officers noticed she appeared confused about where she was, stating she was in Texas. Officers discovered she had missed her earlier flight to Dallas, Texas, and deemed her a danger to herself. After officers detained her, they searched her backpack and found a white package of Alprazolam (Xanax) 2mg. She later admitted to taking one of the pills. Lemus was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Joseph Cunningham booked after killing 13-point buck without license in 2023

47-year-old Joseph Cunningham hunted a 13-point buck on October 21st, 2023, in Davidson County. Cunningham checked in the deer as a landowner in Giles County but did not qualify for the landowner exemption. Cunningham killed the deer without a valid license and committed a tagging violation by falsifying the county in which the deer was originally harvested. Authorities cited him for the violation, and then he was booked on the citation of illegal taking and possession and destruction of wildlife on July 22nd, 2024.

Daniel Garcia assaults wife after accusing her of messaging other men on social media

26-year-old Daniel Garcia was involved in a domestic disturbance with the mother of his children, Shaskia Betancur, at their Keeling Avenue residence on July 19th. When officers arrived, Betancur told them that she had been in an altercation with Garcia. She stated that Garcia had accused her of messaging other men on social media. After Betancur walked away from Garcia, he grabbed her by her left wrist and squeezed it while attempting to take her phone from her. Officers observed redness on Betancur’s wrist. When officers spoke with Garcia, he confessed that he grabbed Betancur by her wrist because he was trying to get her phone from her. After being deemed the primary aggressor, Garcia was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.
