44-year-old Jason Dean Napper had an altercation with Samantha Cadwell, a manager, at the Gallatin Pike North Walgreens on July 31st. Cadwell told responding officers that Napper comes into the establishment and shoplifts daily. Cadwell then stated that around noon, Napper entered the store and grabbed a Gatorade. Cadwell stated she told Napper he needed to leave and was not allowed to be there. Cadwell said that Napper then got in her face with his fist balled up and told her, “I’ll come into the store whenever I want,” which placed her in fear.

She said that after this, he walked out of the location with the Gatorade without paying for it. Cadwell provided the police with surveillance of the incident. Officers later located Napper at Bar-B-Cutie Smokehouse wearing the same clothes he had on in the video and detained him. Then, officers conducted a “show-up” with Cadwell, and she identified him as the person in question. The police could not cite him for the occurrence because he had too many FTAs and FTBs. Napper was then taken into custody for assault and theft.
