Paul Cox III indicted by Grand Jury for multiple counts of tax fraud & evasion

A Davidson County Grand Jury indicted 61-year-old Paul Earthman Cox III for three counts of tax fraud, three counts of tax evasion, and one count of theft on July 24th, 2024. The indictment alleges that Cox III, between January 1st, 2021, and December 31st, 2023, before the finding of his indictment, did knowingly obstruct, hinder, or impede the State of Tennessee from collecting a portion of its lawful sales tax revenue by falsification of any record, report, or return required by law through monthly sales tax returns of PCS Southeast Automotive LLC with the intent to defraud the State of Tennessee. Also, it is alleged that Cox III, between January 1st, 2021, and December 31st, 2023, knowingly attempted in any manner to evade or defeat any tax due the State of Tennessee through sales tax and did obtain or exercise control over $250,000 or more of the Tennessee Department of Revenue’s money without their effective consent, with intent to deprive them. Cox III was taken into custody on July 29th, 2024. A judicial commissioner set Cox III’s bond at $275,000.

DUI: Joseph Albert Benefield scores .150% BAC after causing multi-car accident

63-year-old Joseph Benefield was involved in a several-vehicle car accident on Lake Terrace Drive on August 2nd. After arriving, officers questioned Benefield about his sobriety due to the caller telling them that Benefield was possibly intoxicated. Once Benefield confessed to having a few drinks, he was prompted with sobriety tests. Benefield showed several signs of impairment, so he was taken into custody. After blowing a .150% BAC on a breathalyzer, Benefield was transported to booking and charged with driving under the influence.

Adrian Tenorio runs from police after punching man multiple times in face at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar

20-year-old Adrian Tenorio was observed to be assaulting Dakota Morris at Jason Aldean’s Rooftop Bar on Broadway on August 2nd. When officers arrived, they were flagged down immediately by bar security guards. The security pointed officers in the direction of two individuals who had allegedly assaulted each other while inside the establishment. After reviewing security footage of the incident, officers saw footage of Tenorio punching Morris several times in the face. Officers then spoke with Tenorio, who did not want to provide any information regarding where he lived or provide personal information. Officers then decided to arrest Tenorio for assault, to which he responded by beginning to tense up and physically pull away from officers. Tenorio then attempted to flee the police by running down the street. Officers eventually caught up and apprehended him before placing him in custody for assault, resisting arrest, and evading arrest.

Pablo Muthe enters ex-girlfriend’s home without permission, asks how her day is going

33-year-old Pablo Chavez Muthe entered Maylen Donu Cardon’s, his ex-girlfriend’s, Edmonson Pike apartment without permission on July 9th. Cardon alerted the authorities and advised them that when she got home from work, she discovered Muthe inside her home. When she saw him, Cardon asked him what he was doing there, to which Muthe responded by asking her how her day was going. Cardon added that Muthe left after this interaction.

When officers spoke with Muthe, he said he went by Cardon’s home to check on her and noticed her door was unlocked. He explained that he entered her unit and waited for her to return. Then, Muthe corroborated her statements, telling officers that he only asked her how she was doing and how her day was. After this, Muthe said that he got a text from their son telling him to leave, so he did and went home. A warrant was then obtained for his arrest on July 10th. After failing to appear in court, a criminal summons was issued. Muthe was booked on a summons for aggravated criminal trespass on July 29th.

Kennedy Orrell smokes on plane, insists on being taken to jail after hearing price of hotel room

28-year-old Kennedy Orrell was seen smoking on a Southwest flight at the Nashville International Airport on August 1st. When officers arrived and made contact with Southwest personnel, they were told that Orrell was showing signs of intoxication. Southwest employees explained that Orrell had taken a hit of her vape on the aircraft while they were starting to depart. Orrell was then escorted off her flight and informed that her flight had been canceled. Officers then told Orrell that she had to leave the property. During officers’ interaction with Orrell, they noticed the smell of alcohol coming from her and that she was talking nonsensically while crying. After officers escorted Orrell to the front lobby to get her a hotel room, they spoke on the phone with her friend to calm her down. Once Orrell was escorted to the hotel and told the price of her room, she refused to pay and requested officers to take her to jail instead. Orrell was then taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Wilfred Taylor pulls chair out from under woman causing her to hit her head

49-year-old Wilfred Taylor pulled a chair on one of his neighbors at the Trevecca Towers apartments on July 8th. It was reported that while the victim attempted to sit down, Taylor grabbed the chair from underneath her. This caused her to fall, hit her head against the wall, and lose consciousness for several seconds. Officers cited Taylor for the violation that day. Taylor was later booked on the citation assault on July 30th.

Erika Perkins steals employee’s phone during altercation at Zaxby’s, tells police it was a “gift”

44-year-old Erika Perkins was seen being disorderly at the Zaxby’s on Old Hickory Boulevard on August 1st. A worker at the location, Metzly Vargas, told officers that while dealing with Perkins, she called her manager to remedy the situation. During the call, Vargas handed Perkins the phone so she could communicate directly with the manager. However, Perkins did not return the phone and left the store. Vargas provided officers with Perkins’ license plate, which led them to her address. When officers met with Perkins, they reported that she was uncooperative and told them she believed the phone was a “gift.” After informing Perkins that Vargas’ phone was not a gift and that she was committing a crime, Perkins still refused to give officers her phone. Ericka Perkins was then taken into custody and charged with theft of property on August 2nd.

Alejandra Martinez Perez booked after selling pineapple mimosa to minor at Waffle Taco

25-year-old Alejandra Perez sold a minor a pineapple mimosa at Waffle Taco on Bell Road on June 26th. Officers were conducting an operation to ensure Waffle Taco was checking for ID before selling alcohol. During this, Undercover detectives observed Perez serve a pineapple mimosa to a minor. Law enforcement cited her for the violation that day. Perez was booked on the citation of sale of alcohol to a minor on July 30th. Perez was has a history of selling alcohol to minors, including an incident in December 2023.

Lekevia Cheairs booked for speeding down I-24 weaving between cars in her Nissan Sentra

26-year-old Lekevia Cheairs was speeding in her black Nissan Sentra on I-24 on July 4th. Officers observed her speeding as well as weaving in and out of traffic. Officers then waited until she pulled into a residence on Shagbark Trail and detained her. Officers cited her for the violation that day. Cheairs was later booked on the citation of reckless driving on July 30th.
