21-year-old Ericson Knight was identified as the individual at the park behind Tom Joy Head Start with a gun on August 13th. Officers were advised that Knight was reportedly walking around, asking for money. When police arrived, they located Knight and spoke with the complainant, who confirmed that Knight was the person in question. Officers then tried to speak with Knight, but he took off running. As officers chased him on foot, they noticed he had what appeared to be a gun in his hand. Knight ran across Trinity Lane before Air 1 observed him trying to get into an RV parked at a Jones Avenue residence, later identified as Kenneth Barry’s home.

Officers surrounded the RV and told Knight to come out, which was when Barry exited and told them Knight was hiding in the shower. Knight was then detained for the occurrence. Officers discovered he had caused over $1,000 of damage inside Barry’s RV, messing up the bed and inner paneling. While detained, Knight admitted to having a gun and took officers to where he hid it inside the RV. Knight was taken into custody for resisting arrest, evading, and aggravated burglary.
