34-year-old Melvin Gabbarete had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Traneal Janel Bailey, at their Maudina Avenue apartment on August 18th. Bailey told responding officers that she witnessed Gabbarete bringing a female co-worker to their residence. She further explained that she confronted him about it when they entered the unit, which led to a verbal dispute.
Bailey said that Gabbarete got frustrated with their conversation and slapped her across the face, leaving her right cheek swollen. When officers spoke with Gabbarete, he admitted to smacking Bailey. Gabbarete stated he only slapped her because she got in his face and is always “disrespecting him” on a daily basis. Gabbarete was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Melvin Gabbarete was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 18th, charged with domestic assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,500.
