27-year-old Andrue Peyton Carpenter was found at the Hardin Place McDonalds in a 2014 Infiniti Q50 that Shoaib Mirzai had reported stolen on August 23rd. On August 28th, officers were flagged down by a concerned citizen. When they arrived, they observed the stolen vehicle in the back corner of the McDonald’s parking lot. Officers watched the car pull to the front of the lot and park in a different space. Then, the police approached the driver’s seat, where they located Carpenter, had him exit the vehicle, and detained him for the occurrence.

Carpenter then told officers he had been staying with a friend he met a week ago at Woodspring Suites. Carpenter said that he told his friend he was going to walk to McDonald’s and that his friend told him to take his car. Carpenter claimed he had no idea it was stolen. The individual who flagged officers down advised that Carpenter had stolen the vehicle from a friend named Roger at WoodSpring Suites. Officers later discovered it had been reported stolen from a vehicle shop and that its Kelly Blue Book value is around $11,000. Carpenter was then taken into custody for vehicle theft.

Andrue Peyton Carpenter was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 28th, charged with theft. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $20,000.
