DUI: Eric Huddleston jailed after letting drunk friend crash his car on I-40

39-year-old Eric Huddleston was involved in a single-vehicle accident as a passenger on I-40 near Fesslers Lane in the early hours of September 3rd. Upon arrival, officers located Huddleston, who reeked of alcohol and showed signs of impairment. He stated that his friend, Brittany Shields, who had been arrested for the incident, was driving. The police discovered that the car was registered to Huddleston.

Officers then found three cold, empty Clubtails beer containers near the crash site. When prompted, Huddleston refused to take sobriety tests. The police were also informed that Huddleston had a prior DUI conviction in August 2022. After he declined to provide a chemical sample, officers obtained a warrant for one. Huddleston was taken into custody for driving under the influence-2nd offense and an implied consent violation.

Eric S. Huddleston of Carolina Ave in Cookeville, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on September 3rd, charged with driving under the influence-2nd offense and implied consent violation. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $5,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
