Scott Borchers charged with DUI after rear-ending vehicle on I-40 East

50-year-old Scott Borchers was involved in a car accident on I-40 East near Mile Marker 219 in the early hours of June 21st. When officers arrived, Borchers told them the other vehicle involved in the crash rear-ended his black Hyundai sedan. The evidence from the crash showed otherwise and was consistent with him rear-ending the other driver. Borchers claimed that he was driving to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and denied that he consumed any alcohol. As they spoke with Borchers, officers noticed he had an open alcoholic beverage in his center console. When asked about the beverage, Borchers said he lied to them, adding that he had three throughout the night. While speaking to Borchers, officers noted that he reeked of alcohol and showed several signs of intoxication. This prompted officers to request Borchers to perform sobriety tests. Borchers performed poorly and almost fell over, forcing officers to assist him. After being read implied consent, Borchers refused to provide a chemical sample. Borchers was taken into custody for driving under the influence, an open-container violation, and an implied consent violation.

Mark Zimmerman fights with security guard at Morgan Wallen’s This Bar

21-year-old Mark Zimmerman was seen fighting bar security at Morgan Wallen’s This Bar on June 21st. Officers were flagged down by bar staff because they said that they observed Zimmerman hitting a member of security. When officers arrived on the scene, they were provided video footage from security of the incident. The footage showed Zimmerman being denied entry to the bar, pretending to walk away, then striking a bar security officer. Officers then noticed Zimmerman could not stand on his own, as well as other signs of intoxication. Zimmerman was then taken into custody and charged with assault and public intoxication.

Courtney King slashes mother’s tires during Chipotle Family Brawl

27-year-old Courtney Regina King and her sister, Rahquell Micole King, caused a domestic disturbance with their mother, Nicole King Wheatley, at the Thompson Lane Chipotle around 6:27 p.m. on June 20th. When officers arrived, they observed Courtney wearing a Chipotle uniform with a bloody left hand, Anaiya Cole wearing black shorts and a black jacket, and Rahquell in a purple dress. Then, other Chipotle employees informed officers that the trio planned to come there and start a fight with Nicole, the location’s manager. Courtney was transported to Vanderbilt for her injuries. Officers reviewed footage of the incident, showing Courtney and Rahquell inside the restaurant throwing items at Nicole. After this, Nicole grabbed a knife for protection while Rahquell and Courtney went behind the counter where she stood. Nicole brandished the knife, trying to get them away from her, which was when Courtney grabbed the blade, causing her injury. Footage also showed Cole throwing an item without it hitting anyone. Then, an unknown customer informed Nicole that a female, later identified as Courtney, was vandalizing someone’s vehicle, later identified as Nicole’s. When officers spoke with Courtney, she admitted to damaging Nicole’s tires. Courtney King was then taken into custody for domestic assault and vandalism.

Christopher Matus caught with heroin after officers discover outstanding warrant

35-year-old Christopher Matus was involved in a personal injury accident at Armory Oaks Drive on June 18th. During the investigation, officers discovered that Matus’ license had been revoked. Officers also learned that Matus had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from White Bluff, Tennessee, with extradition. Following Matus’ release from the hospital, officers conducted a search of his person. During the search, officers located a small off-white rock in a nicotine pouch box, which Matus later admitted was Heroin. Matus was taken into custody for simple possession and driving on a revoked license.

Zuleyma Marrero-Rodriguez assaults boyfriend during argument over truck keys

27-year-old Zuleyma Marrero-Rodriguez was involved in a domestic altercation with her boyfriend, Raul Varela-Soto, at The Still I & II apartment complex on June 18th. When officers arrived, they found Rodriguez and Soto standing outside their apartment. Officers observed Rodriguez crying and that she had sustained visible cuts on her fingers and face. Officers spoke with Rodriguez, who explained that she and Soto argued over the keys to their truck. When Soto refused to give her the keys, she struck him on his arm and leg. Rodriguez told officers that Soto struck her back in the face after she hit him. Officers later spoke with Soto, who said he and Rodriguez argued over the keys, but nothing physical happened. When officers asked about the bruise on his arm and the mark on his face, Soto stated that he bumped into a door on the way out of his apartment. When officers asked Soto how Rodriguez sustained a cut on her finger, he claimed that Rodriguez had been throwing things in the apartment. Based on the injuries observed and the statements made by both parties, officers determined Rodriguez to be the primary aggressor, and she was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Roderick Majors punches ex-girlfriend in the face multiple times at WoodSpring Suites Hotel

34-year-old Roderick Vontez Majors had a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend, Kristan Mangrum, at WoodSpring Suites on November 26th, 2023. Mangrum informed officers that on November 25th, 2023, around 2 p.m., Majors arrived at her hotel room and started kicking and banging on the door. Mangrum stated she was in the process of leaving the hotel to visit her mother in the hospital. Mangrum added that Majors had no reason to be at the hotel due to them being separated. Mangrum then left Majors at the hotel to visit her mother in the hospital. Mangrum returned to her room around 5 a.m. and found that Majors was waiting for her at the hotel. When he made contact with Mangrum, he punched her in the head and face. After this, she called 911 from the hotel lobby phone. Majors then snatched the hotel phone from her and ripped it from the wall. Mangrum stated she then walked outside to the parking lot. Majors followed her and kept grabbing and punching her, causing slight swelling, redness, bruising, and a visible scratch. Mangrum noted that when she got away, she attempted to contact officers on her cell phone, but her phone was dead. Once Majors noticed what she was doing, he approached her, took her cell phone, and threw it on the ground, causing it to shatter. Mangrum told officers she attempted to walk away from WoodSpring Suites, fearing the incident would get her kicked out and leave her homeless. Majors fled the scene on foot and was not present while officers were on the scene, so they obtained a warrant for his arrest that day. Majors was later taken into custody for domestic assault, interference with a 911 phone call, and vandalism on June 15th, 2024.

Lewis Johnson breaks into tenant’s apartment, rummages through his belongings

60-year-old Lewis Kennedy Johnson was taken into custody for aggravated burglary on June 20th. On May 1st, Kay Jackson went to the Family Safety Center and reported stolen property from Alan Anderson’s, her brother’s home and vehicle. Jackson stated that on January 28th, around 5:36 p.m., she told officers that Anderson had a seizure and could not speak to them. Then, Jackson said she and Lewis Johnson, the property owner, were at Anderson’s apartment. When they returned, a metal box that contained five property deeds and at least six vehicle titles had been removed from the drawer. She told them that, to her knowledge, Johnson was the only person with a spare key to the unit and that neighbors had seen Chiu Fu Sheng leaving the premises after the theft occurred. Jackson informed officers that Anderson left two motorcycles with Sheng at a Clarksville storage building. Then, Jackson said Anderson told her he had $20,000 inside a pouch in his Mercedes, but when she searched for it, she could not find it, adding that his car appeared to have been rummaged through.

Officers then spoke with Johnson over the phone about the incident. Johnson told them that when he arrived at the apartment, everything seemed in place, but after returning on January 28th, around 4:20 p.m., he saw drawers and doors that were not opened when he left. He also stated he did not believe Sheng had a key to the unit. Jackson informed police that Anderson had the locks changed and cameras installed following the occurrence. Jackson added that she told Johnson to stay out of Anderson’s apartment, which he agreed with. A day later, Jackson caught Johnson under surveillance going through her brother’s items and provided officers with the footage. Jackson advised officers she wanted Johnson to return Anderson’s motorcycle jacket and 43X pistol. On April 24th, the police called Johnson about the missing property, and he told them he had returned the things he had stolen and that he did not know about the jacket or pistol. Jackson also stated that the neighbor told her that Sheng was at the apartment on the day the things were stolen. Jackson said she sent a certified letter through her attorney to Sheng asking for the items back. Sheng returned some of the missing things, including one pistol and four holsters. During a phone call, Sheng told officers she had returned all the stolen items from Anderson to Jackson. A warrant was issued for Johnson’s arrest, and he was later detained.

Clayvon Smith punches girlfriend multiples times in face during argument over cell phone

19-year-old Clayvon Smith had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Ieyonna Johnson, at her Richland Hill apartment on June 20th. Johnson told responding officers that Smith stays with her occasionally and that today they had argued over a cell phone. Johnson told police that this led to Smith slapping her in the face repeatedly and pushing her around, leaving visible scratches on her neck. Then, when officers spoke with Smith, he said they had a verbal dispute and that nothing physical happened besides them pushing each other. Smith added that he just wanted to get his belongings and leave. Smith was deemed the primary aggressor and was taken into custody for domestic assault.
