Jamison Whatley resists arrest, refuses to leave Jason Aldean’s Bar

24-year-old Jamison Whatley was being disorderly at Jason Aldean’s in downtown Nashville on February 3rd. Security for the establishment flagged officers down, advising them that Whatley refused to leave after being asked repeatedly to do so. Officers arrived and told him he needed to leave the bar or would be arrested for trespassing, but he did not listen. Officers tried to detain him, but he became resistive, swinging his arms forward and locking them out. After minimal force, they were able to arrest him, and he was taken into custody for criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

DUI: Clayton McCool found stopped in the middle of an active roadway

35-year-old Clayton McCool stopped in the middle of an active roadway on Division Street in the early hours of February 4th. Officers observed this when they arrived and asked him to exit the vehicle. McCool’s keys were found on the sidewalk as he told them he had been driving but was unaware of how they ended up on the sidewalk. They observed McCool to be visibly intoxicated as he consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Officers Mirandized McCool as he refused to provide a blood sample and informed him of implied consent. McCool was taken into custody for driving under the influence and an implied consent violation.

DUI: Brice Kiggins causes accident after drinking in downtown Nashville

25-year-old Brice Edward Kiggins caused a car accident on Murfreesboro Pike late February 4th. Kiggins talked to officers when they arrived, advising them it was his fault for the crash. Kiggins advised that he did not see the other driver when he made a left off Murfreesboro Pike, causing the collision. Officers observed him to be visibly intoxicated as he explained that he was coming from downtown Nashville, where he had two beers. Kiggins agreed to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Kiggins then provided two breath samples, resulting in 0.165 BAC% and 0.151 BAC%. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Samuel Lusty slashes tires of girlfriend & roommate after breakup

23-year-old Samuel Lusty was jailed Saturday after slashing the tires of his girlfriend, Kristin Lusty, and her roommate, Abigail Clark, as he was upset about the end of a relationship. Police say Lusty and Kristin Cowart broke up Friday evening after arguing all day. Lusty reportedly became angry and began to threaten to beat up Cowart, and also get her jumped by his friends. Lusty then slashed the rear tires of Cowart’s Ford Escape, and the left rear tire of her roommate’s Nissan Altima. Lusty had fled the scene before officers arrived but was apprehended a short time later.

Vanderbilt Nurse Hannah Hooper berates cops with derogatory slurs during drunken arrest

23-year-old Vanderbilt Nurse Hannah Hooper refused to leave Luke Bryan’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville early Saturday morning. Security initially located her on the steps leading to the rooftop, where she was overly intoxicated and causing a disturbance. Officers had arrived to assist security, and she informed them she was not leaving the bar and attempted to return to enjoying her evening. Officers attempted to guide her outside, but she refused to cooperate and pushed officers. She was taken down and into custody. She became combative and kicked officers, eventually having to be placed into a wheelchair to be transported outside safely. Police say that during transport to booking, Hannah Hooper berated officers by calling them derogatory slurs. Her friends informed officers that she was a nurse at Vanderbilt during the arrest. She is charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and criminal trespassing.

Tyler Bidwell drunkenly threatens man with firearm after calling him racial slurs at Marathon Music Works

30-year-old Tyler Lynn Bidwell had an altercation with Christopher Daniel McGowan at a concert in Marathon Music Works on February 3rd. McGowan explained to officers that he and his friend were enjoying the music until Bidwell began disrupting them. Then, Bidwell started calling McGowan and his friend derogatory slurs while pushing them before brandishing a firearm. Officers did not find a gun upon searching Bidwell, but they noticed he was highly intoxicated, asking them the same questions repeatedly. Bidwell was taken into custody for public intoxication and assault.

DUI: Edwin Saul swerves between lanes, nearly hits police car in Toyota Tacoma on I-40

29-year-old Edwin Saul nearly struck an officer’s patrol car with his blue Tacoma on I-40 in the early hours of February 3rd. Officers noticed this, drove behind him for further observation, and observed him swerving before they initiated a traffic stop. Saul passed several safe spots to pull into and stopped halfway onto the shoulder lane, partially in a travel lane. They approached and asked him to exit the vehicle, to which he complied, and watched him stumble while walking to their patrol car. Saul was detained, and in a subsequent search of his pickup truck, officers located several open containers throughout the vehicle. Saul was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

Washington Tourist Natasha Lysiak yells at police, refuses to leave Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk

44-year-old Washington tourist Natasha Spirit Lysiak refused to leave Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk in the early hours of February 3rd. Security at the bar advised officers that she stood before the side door, stopping people from coming or going. Officers responded and observed Lysiak going up to the side door. Officers tried to get her attention, but she started walking away. Then, Lysiak stepped up to the officers, yelling at them as they tried to speak with her, attempting to get in their faces. Lysiak was visibly intoxicated and irate as officers tried talking with her. Lysiak then screamed as she was escorted to the patrol car. Lysiak then refused to sit in the patrol car while yelling at officers. Officers eventually were able to get Lysiak in the vehicle and transported her to booking as she cried in the backseat. Lysiak was taken into custody for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Texas Tourist Dylan Kinnett vomits on himself in police car after resisting arrest at Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk

23-year-old Texas tourist Dylan Michael Kinnett entered Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk from the side door late February 3rd. Officers arrived and began removing people from the side door entry area since they aren’t permitted to enter this way. While Officers spoke with patrons, Kinnett tried to push through them to fight an unknown party. Officers attempted to detain him, but he resisted, tensing his muscles and hindering them from putting his hands behind his back. Then, after officers brought him to the ground, they arrested him and noticed he was intoxicated. Kinnett vomited on himself when they placed him in the patrol car, and then he was taken into custody for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Jason Helstowski drunkenly fights security at Whiskey Row to defend his friend

39-year-old Jason Helstowski had a scuffle with security at Whiskey Row in the early hours of February 5th. When officers arrived, he was wrestling with security and had to be separated for officers to conduct interviews. Whiskey Row staff advised officers they were removing a separate male from the establishment when Helstowski interrupted and began fighting with them. Helstowski told officers he was in an altercation but wouldn’t elaborate further. However, later, Helstowski admitted to jumping in and fighting security to defend his friend, whom he thought was being attacked by them. Helstowski also admitted to being intoxicated during the incident. Helstowski was taken into custody for disorderly conduct.
