Serial Booster Ripley Torbett jailed for stealing from Target in 2023

25-year-old Ripley Grace Torbett stole merchandise from Target on November 8th, 2023. Torbett was observed gathering $571.91 worth of merchandise before going to the self-checkout, scanning a $1 price tag, and leaving without paying the full amount for the items. A warrant was issued for her arrest on March 14th, 2024. Torbett was taken into custody for theft on June 25th, 2024. Torbett was previously arrested on March 6th for a two month streak of stealing from Target.

Jamal Johnson screams profanities at pedestrians after being denied entry into bar

23-year-old Jamal Tyrell Johnson tried entering an establishment after being denied entry on June 30th. Security flagged officers down and advised them of this, and when they arrived, they spoke with Johnson. Officers noted that Johnson reeked of alcohol and could not stand independently. Then, officers located his friend, who agreed to take him home. Johnson then turned around and started screaming profanities at pedestrians as they passed. Johnson was then taken into custody for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Edward Brown threatens to kill neighbor with knife

22-year-old Edward Hunter Brown threatened one of his neighbors, Jaimen Killian, at the Lewis Street Apartment Complex on June 30th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Killian, who stated that he was outside on his balcony when Brown threatened to kill him while holding a knife. Police were previously at this location on June 29th regarding similar threats, during which officers advised Brown to stay away from Killian and that he could be arrested if he continued threatening him. Melody Hartmire, a witness, spoke with officers and corroborated Killian’s statements. Brown was later taken into custody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Sonny Sitthara assaults girlfriend after she records him during argument

34-year-old Sony Sitthara had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Sydney Clay, at their Hopedale Drive residence on June 29th. Clay told responding officers that she got home and noticed that Sitthara and their children were gone, so she rested and went to her room. Then, when they returned, Sitthara woke Clay up and told her they had gotten food. After this, Clay went to the kitchen, and Sitthara started arguing with her and insulting her until she returned to her room, locking the door. Sitthara followed and started banging on the door while shouting derogatory remarks at her, threatening to kick the door down. Clay shouted that she had started recording the incident, causing Sitthara to eventually stop. Clay added that she feared for her child’s safety and exited the room to grab them. Sitthara was holding their child as he rushed to the bedroom to grab Clay’s phone and delete the recordings once he saw her walking down the hall. Clay stated she followed him, during which Sitthara stopped at the doorway. Sitthara prevented her from entering and pushed her backward. Then, when Clay tried to maneuver under his arms, Sitthara shoved her in the chest with his forearm, causing her to fall onto her back into a closet. Afterward, Clay stated she called 911. Sitthara was later taken into custody for domestic assault on June 30th.

Christina Timmons jailed after stealing pair of jean shorts from rental home

On June 29th, 40-year-old Christina Timmons had broken into a Jones Avenue rental home where Eaden Fleming and Seth Weller stayed. Fleming and Wellers alerted the authorities and told responding officers that an unknown heavy-set white female wearing a black shirt and blue jeans had walked into where they were staying. They told police she had stolen a pair of jean shorts and a belt. Then, they told officers the female, later identified as Timmons, went toward East Trinity Lane afterward. Officers found Timmons matching the provided description at a park bench near the Jones Avenue and Joy Avenue intersection. Officers also located the stolen shorts and belt next to her. Officers conducted a show-up, during which Fleming and Wellers identified Timmons as the person in question. Timmons was taken into custody for aggravated burglary.

Monique Ward caught stealing at Target by “Skip-Scanning” at self-checkout

43-year-old Monique Latosha Ward was caught trying to steal merchandise from the Gallatin Pike North Target on June 4th. Loss Prevention Agent Grace Sanders alerted the authorities and advised them that Ward had entered the store and started concealing items in her bag. Sanders stated that Ward began “skip-scanning” at the self-checkout register and exited the store. After Ward walked out, she was confronted by loss prevention employees. Ward was then cited for the occurrence that day. Ward was booked on the citation of theft on June 26th.

Treasure Bolden found sleeping in man’s vacant home

26-year-old Treasure Bolden was seen trespassing at a Lemont Drive residence on June 30th. Officers responded to a break-in at the location. When officers arrived, they spoke with Ulises Lagunas, who said he and his wife were trying to sell the residence. When Lagunas arrived at the location to check on the home, he heard people conversing inside. He also observed Bolden in a bed through the window. Officers then entered the location to clear it per Lagunas’ request and located Bolden sleeping in one of the bedrooms. Officers also found two crack pipes next to her. Bolden was then taken into custody for criminal trespass and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Chennye Turbeville punches man in front of his son during argument

28-year-old Chennye Turbeville had a domestic altercation with Gary Harrington II at her Mercer Drive residence around 10:57 a.m. on June 30th. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Turbeville, who stated that she and Harrington II had argued. Turbeville stated the argument turned physical when Harrington II got in her face, causing her to push him away. Then, Harrington II told them that she asked him to leave the residence, and he refused. In response, Turbeville pushed his chest, grabbed onto his tank top, and started striking him repeatedly, ripping his shirt and leaving visible marks. Harrington II’s son said that he saw Turbeville punching his dad in the side of his face. When asked how Harrington II’s shirt was torn, Turbeville stated that when she pushed him, his shirt got caught on her finger and ripped. Turbeville was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Hannah Whittaker assaults boyfriend during argument over speaking to “members of the opposite sex”

19-year-old Hannah Lea Whittaker had a domestic incident with Matthew Carter at their Lutton Street residence on June 30th. Whittaker told responding officers that she and Carted had argued over them talking to the other sex, which she added was strictly verbal. Then, Carter advised officers that their dispute had turned physical and that he recorded it. Officers reviewed the video, which showed Carter turning his back while hearing sounds consistent with Whittaker hitting him. Whittaker was then taken into custody for domestic assault.
