Trevell James charged after robbery and shoot-out with victim & friend

19-year-old Trevell James was booked this week on outstanding warrants for felony aggravated robbery, drug possession, and theft during two incidents on December 27. Police say he entered a business and asked to use the restroom. He then went to the employee locker room, took the jacket of Adam Peler, which contained the keys to his vehicle, and walked out the front door wearing the jacket. On that same day, Trevel James and Alfred Rodriguez attempted to rob Shandarie Barrett of $2,000, which he had been sent to the bank to get. When he was unable to withdraw the money and returned to his residence, he was pistol-whipped and robbed of his phone and passport.

James and Rodrigues then fled the location, and the victim and his friend, Everald Nelson, pursued them throughout South Nashville. Nelson exchanged gunfire with the suspects in the parking lot of a Waffle House. The two suspects then abandoned their car and fled the scene. Inside the abandoned vehicle, officers found four bags of marijuana, totaling one pound in weight. Warrants were issued for their arrest, and James was booked on those this week.

Nicholas Moore charged after pushing girlfriend’s face into mud during an assault

27-year-old Nicholas Moore reportedly smashed his girlfriend’s head into the mud during an assault on February 3. Police say the two were in an argument over ‘relationship issues’ that was taken outside into the parking lot of their North Nashville apartment complex. She says he pushed her and threw her to the ground and dragged her into the mud and pushed her head into it. Nicholas’ friend intervened, giving the victim, Jessica Turner, time to retrieve a box cutter for self-defense. She screamed for Moore to leave her alone, but he rushed her in an attempt to take the box cutter and, in doing so, cut his hand before fleeing. As police were at the scene, Moore also called 911 to report the knife wound and stated he was driving himself to Centennial Hospital. Officers positioned themself to await his arrival, but he never showed up. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was booked on it this week.

Avaunt Savannah charged with robbing girlfriend of rent money at gunpoint

21-year-old Avaunt Montez Savannah and an accomplice were reportedly in the apartment of his girlfriend, Jessica Stephens, on December 31. Avaunt’s friend and his girlfriend were arguing back and forth and swapping insults. As Jessica opened the door for all three of them to leave the apartment, she says the friend grabbed her purse and demanded her money. She says Avaunt and his friend both then pulled handguns and pointed them at her and took her rent money ($1380), her cell phone, and her car keys from her purse. The friend stated he was “about to smoke” the victim while acting like he was about to pistol whip her. The two ordered her to go into her bedroom and stay there for twenty minutes while they fled. Arrest warrants were issued, and Montez was booked into custody this week.

Deadreicka Miller taps David Taylor with knife after disparaging his dead relative

David Taylor says 23-year-old Deadreicka Miller made a disparaging remake about one of his dead relatives on February 8. As the argument heated up, Miller reportedly pick up a knife and threatened Taylor. She then tapped the blade on his leg, putting him in fear of bodily injury. A Witness observed the assault. Miller had been staying with Taylor for just a month prior to the incident. She says that Taylor said something about her ex initially, causing her to respond about his dead relative. She is charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Booster Macey McMinton caught at Bellevue T.J. Maxx

Police say 23-year-old Macey McMinton brought a T.J. Maxx shopping bag with her when she entered their store on Hwy 70 S on January 16. She then filled the bag with merchandise and walked out the door. Loss prevention detained her and took possession of the boosted items, which were valued at $207.85. She was issued a citation for shoplifting, and was booked on that citation this week.

Petty Vanderbilt Police charge George Woods with marijuana possession in parking lot

Sgt Orlando Dixson of the Vanderbilt University Police Department charged 22-year-old George Woods IV with marijuana possession on January 20. Dixson says he approached an illegally parked vehicle in a Vanderbilt University parking lot and noticed the seats were laid all the way back. Two small bags of marijuana were in plain view, and the driver, Woods, admitted it was his marijuana for personal use. Woods was booked on the citation this week.

Jesus Jurarez cited after reckless driving and loud muffler on Nolensville Pike

21-year-old Jesus Jurarez was cited on five charges on January 7 as he drove his 2015 Camaro on Nolensville Road with a very loud exhaust as he passed a marked patrol car while accelerating recklessly. He was swerving between lanes, and a traffic stop was initiated. Jurarez had no license, no insurance, and an open beer in the vehicle. He passed field sobriety tests with only minor indications of impairment. He was issued state citations and was booked on them this week.

Kevin Davis brutally assaulted his lover while wearing gloves and socks over his hands

Gabrielle Norman says her 41-year-old lover Kevin Davis put on fingerless boxing gloves and then black socks over his hands before he pulled the sheets off the bed and grabbed her by the throat, and tossed her to the ground. Once on the ground, she said he accused her of cheating. He then began to brutally punch and kick her. Officers documented bruising “all over her body.” The incident occurred in June, and a warrant was issued for his arrest at that time. He was booked on that warrant this week.

Peter Taylor charged with possessing a crack rock & push rod outside Nashville Rescue Mission

55-year-old Peter Taylor faces drug possession and paraphernalia charges after he spoke with Metro Nashville Police Officers at the Nashville Rescue mission in December. During their conversation about an unrelated charge, Taylor reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Officers say they observed a ‘push rod’ in his pocket and, during a search, also retrieved a crack rock. He was cited for drug possession and drug paraphernalia.
