DUI: Michael Collier says he sniffed unknown powder on a receipt paper before blacking out

Metro Nashville Police responded to a single-vehicle accident on I-40 where a Kia Sportage driven by 25-year-old Michael Collier impacted a guardrail near the Central Pike ramp. First responders arrived to find Collier unresponsive behind the wheel. After finding a white powdery substance in the cup holder, two doses of Narcan were administered with no impact on his level of responsiveness throughout the emergency transport. As the ambulance arrived at the hospital bay, Collier suddenly eloped from the gurney and fled on foot for a short distance until stopped by officers and detained. He told officers he picked up a receipt from the cup holder and noticed the powder on his fingers and sniffed his fingers to see what it was on the receipt. Seconds after sniffing his fingers he says he blacked out and woke up in the back of the ambulance. We previously covered Collier when he assaulted his girlfriend with a hamburger from behind in 2021.

Conor McNamara charged with late-night DUI just days after turning 21

Late Friday night, 21-year-old Conor McNamara crashed his vehicle onto the sidewalk on 4th Ave South just near the Nashville City Cemetary. McNamara freely admitted he didn’t have a valid license to drive and that he consumed “one beer” about fifteen minutes prior to driving. Officers say he performed poorly on field sobriety tests and blew a 0.098% BAC on a breathalyzer.
Conor is the son of Sean McNamara, the owner of McNamara’s Irish Pub.

DUI: Amber Collins found asleep behind wheel after nearly causing multiple crashes

A concerned citizen followed a red BMW driving by 27-year-old Amber Collins to a convenience store on Haywood Lance, concerned for her safety as she was reportedly swerving in and out of traffic and nearly caused multiple accidents. When police arrived, Collins had pulled into the parking lot of the gas station and fallen asleep at the wheel of her BMW, which was still running and near the gas pumps. After she was awoken she remained incoherent and was unable to answer questions. Inside the vehicle, officers found an open Smirnoff Vodka bottle, which was half empty.
She was charged with DUI.

DUI: Robert Coleman drove up onto sidewalk where cops were standing for a road closure

Police say 65-year-old Robert Coleman drove his vehicle through a crosswalk, onto a sidewalk, and continued to where officers were standing for a road-closure setup. Coleman was reportedly confused and stared at police officers with a “dazed look”. He was heavily intoxicated and had to brace against the car when he exited. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests, and blew a 0.196% BAC on a breathalyzer.

He was transported to jail and charged with DUI.

East Nashville moped DUI: Thomas Willey arrested

Metro Nashville Police received a call Saturday evening that two people riding on a red “moped” had fallen over due to drunkenness. As officers arrived at the intersection of N 14th St & Forrest Ave, 37-year-old Thomas Willey, in very slurred speech, identified himself as the driver of the motorized scooter. A witness says Willey attempted to flee before offices arrived, but was unable to successfully drive it away. Police note he was obviously intoxicated and admitted to drinking “2 margaritas” at a nearby bar earlier in the evening. He was transported to booking and charged with DUI.

Tyler Glass admits to using meth before crashing, fleeing, passing out in intersection

29-year-old Tyler Glass says he used meth one hour before a series of car crashes in South Nashville. On Thursday, Nashville Fire initially responded to a male passed out in a VW Jetta on nearby Clayton Street. EMS District Chief Chad Gilly says as they attempted to check on the man, later identified as Glass, he suddenly drove off from the scene and they found him again, passed out at the intersection of Vaulx Lane and Gale Lane, where Officer Stratton now attempted to speak with him. He refused to exit the vehicle, and would only repeat “I’m hot” when asked questions. He was eventually coaxed out of the vehicle and taken into custody, where he continued to nod off in the back of a patrol car. When asked basic questions he would simply stare forward. Inside a “colorful bag” in the vehicle, officers found snort straws, a small plunger, and crystal methamphetamine.

DUI: Kyle Meek crashes into yard, tells residents he has to “get out of here before cops arrive” #RunKyleRun

Late Thursday night, several witnesses observed 37-year-old accountant Kyle Meek crash into a yard and fence in a residential area. They reportedly overhead Meed saying he needed to get out of the area “before the cops arrived”, and was openly admitting he was drinking alcohol prior to driving. He was still on scene when officers arrived and stated he was attempting to drive to his girlfriend’s house for a camping trip when he “missed a curve” and didn’t remember anything after that. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and stated he drink 2 “very strong” Gin & Tonic drinks an hour before the crash. #RunKyleRun

John Freeman claims parked unoccupied car pulled out in front of him, causing crash on Acklen Ave

45-year-old John Freeman Jr. was involved in an automobile crash on Acklen Ave on June 12th and when officers responded they smelled alcohol coming from and noticed several signs of intoxication, so they requested he perform field sobriety tests. Freeman performed poorly on those tasks and asked the officer which language he’d like to hear while performing the tests. Freeman claims he was just driving when a car pulled out in front of him, however, multiple witnesses confirmed all other vehicles were parked in front of a home when he crashed into them. Freeman had two bottles of vodka on him at the time of his arrest.

Christopher Carothers admits to using heroin prior to crashing into another vehicle

Police say 47-year-old Christopher Carothers was one block away from his home when he drove his white Lexus into the other lane of travel and collided with another vehicle, injuring two people. Officer founds Carothers sitting on a sidewalk, shaking with pinpoint pupils when they arrived. His sentences were incoherent and he continuously nodded off after admitting he had shot up with heroin shortly before the crash. Police located 30 Oxycodone pills and a dollar bill containing heroin inside the vehicle. After a warrant was granted for his blood, he was transported to Metro General before being booked into jail.
