Jamal Browder stops girlfriend from leaving, tells her “give me a reason to hit you”

29-year-old Jamal Jeffrey Browder had a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Kimani Jones, at their Clay Street apartment around midnight on June 23rd. At approximately 9:27 a.m., officers were called to the Clarksville Pike Save-A-Lot and spoke with Jones. Jones stated that she and Browder had gone out drinking the night before and that when they returned to their apartment, Browder had become belligerent, trying to get a reaction from her. In an attempt to remove herself from the situation, Jones started packing a bag to leave for the night. As she began, Browder jumped on the bed to make himself taller than her and started yelling at her, “You are not going anywhere,” while throwing her belongings out of her bag and breaking them around the unit. Jones said she ran down the stairs but came back into contact with Browder, who was waiting for her. Browder wrapped his arms around her and repeatedly said, “Give me a reason to hit you,” until she broke from his grip. Once Harris was away from Browder, she ran to her car, where she slept for the rest of the night. Officers escorted Harris to her residence for her belongings, and Browder was taken into custody for false imprisonment and domestic assault.
