Diaper Bandit Kanetra Hill steals $370 worth of Pampers & other items from Dollar General

29-year-old Kanetra Hill and her friend Lindsey Page had stolen from the Dickerson Pike Dollar General around 8:15 p.m. on March 7th. Hill and Page grabbed around $120 worth of Pampers diapers and Gain laundry detergent before exiting through the side door and leaving in a grey Honda Pilot. Following the incident, officers located the Honda near North 2nd Street and Grace Street with diapers in the backseat. Officers provided detectives with the vehicle’s tag, which returned as Hill’s, who was identified after reviewing Dollar General’s security footage. Then, officers discovered that Page had been arrested in the Honda Pilot on March 12th. A warrant was issued for Hill’s arrest on April 29th.

On March 18th, Hill and two other unidentified individuals entered the Brick Church Pike Dollar General. They picked up baskets and filled them with around $250 worth of merchandise. After filling their baskets, they left the store and drove away in a grey Honda Pilot. An additional arrest warrant was obtained for Hill on May 3rd. Kanetra Hill was later taken into custody for two counts of theft on June 17th.

Brayan Escobar jailed after attacking man with his father

27-year-old Brayan Escobar was taken into custody for aggravated robbery on May 3rd. On May 2nd, David Ray McCormick told the police that he was driving his truck down Roosevelt Avenue toward Gallatin Pike North when he stopped at the stop sign. McCormick stated a small silver sedan pulled up in front of him, cutting him off. Then, he said, two male Hispanics, later identified as Escobar and his father, exited the car and approached him, trying to open the door, during which they started attacking him. This forced McCormick to defend himself during the altercation. McCormick said one of the men picked up a large brick and threw it at him, hitting his chest and leaving a large abrasion and several bruises. McCormick added that they pulled his keys from his truck and tried to take his wallet and phone. Video footage from a nearby store captured the incident, corroborating McCormick’s statements.

While officers assisted McCormick, Escobar and his father flagged officers down near Gallatin Pike South, requesting medical assistance for a stab wound. They were transported to Skyline Hospital, where Escobar provided a statement of how his father was stabbed. While speaking with officers, Escobar described the location and aspects of McCormick’s identity as well as providing a picture of his car’s tag. McCormick later admitted to defending himself with a 10-inch piece of rebar to fight them off but stated he did not believe he stabbed anyone. Escobar and his father were deemed the primary aggressors. Escobar was then detained for the incident.

Florida man John Burgett indicted on identity theft and harassment charges

The July Grand Jury indicted 57-year-old John Burgett for two counts of identity theft, trafficking, and harassment. Detectives say John knowingly used Tracy D. McMurtry’s identity without permission on August 25th, 2022. He also intended to give out personal identifying information without the consent of Tracy D. McMurtry. From August 3rd to 15th, John knowingly communicated with Tracy McMurtry in a manner that would annoy, offend, alarm, or frighten. He was placed into custody for the charges on August 18th.

Booster Jalyn Miller identifies her two accomplices in theft from Bed Bath & Beyond

21-year-old Jalyn Brenae Miller was jailed this week on multiple outstanding warrants for theft from Bed Bath & Beyond. Miller was one of three boosters who each stole a comforter set from the Madison Store in October. During an interview, police say Miller positively identified her two accomplices, Lundyia Woods and Alexis Flemmings. A second warrant alleges that the week after the first theft, Miller came back into the store and stole $700 worth of merchandise.

Jaylin Sanford charged after making threats to 15-year-old boy via Facetime

18-year-old Jaylin Sanford is charged with harassment after he reportedly made threats to Robyn Henley and her 15-year-old son. Court records allege Sanford Facetimed the teenage boy and threatened to kill him while displaying a Glock 19 with a laser sight on the gun. A day after the first incident, Sanford reportedly Facetimed once again, threatening to shoot up their house. Sanford then continued the threats via texts from multiple numbers, placing the family in fear for their safety.
