Cody Johnson caught after several people trespass on man’s vacant property

29-year-old Cody James Johnson was one of several people trespassing on Malek Nabil Yafai’s Old Elm Hill Pike property around 6:51 p.m. on February 21st. Yafai told responding officers the location was vacant but had an active trespass waiver on file. Yafai stated that he wanted Johnson and the others removed from the property. Yafai also wanted to press charges for the occurrence. When officers located Johnson, he told them he knew he was not supposed to be there but was retrieving his belongings. Johnson explained that Yafai had repeatedly told him not to be on the property. Johnson was cited for the incident that day. Johnson was later booked on the citation of criminal trespassing on June 17th.

Betty Finney hits man in face during argument over fan, tells police “I’m not getting in the car!”

36-year-old Betty Elaine Finney had a domestic altercation with John White III near Charles E. Davis Boulevard and Fain Street on May 19th. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Finney, who stated she and White III argued over a fan, which sparked an argument. White III told officers that during the argument, Finney struck him in the face, leaving a small abrasion on his lip. White III said he pushed her off in self-defense, and an unidentified third party corroborated White III’s statement. While trying to detain Finney, she resisted, yelling, “I’m not getting in the car!” bracing her back against the door. Officers had to go to the other side of the patrol car and tried to pull her in with her handcuffs until she complied. Finney was taken into custody for resisting arrest and domestic assault.

Dayjohnica Johnson beats woman with a can of corn in a sock

26-year-old Dayjohnica Johnson and Shu-Jen Williams had an incident with Jameshia Taylor at Extended Stay America on Elm Hill Pike in the afternoon of May 4th. A resident called 911, stating they could hear yelling coming from upstairs. When officers arrived, they spoke with the complainant, who said he heard three voices yelling from Taylor’s room, which sounded like a “physical altercation occurring,” adding that one of them screamed for help, saying, “I can’t breathe.” Officers then spoke with Taylor, who explained that she had been staying with Johnson for the past month.

She said that they were arguing, and when she was in the bathroom, Johnson struck her in the face with a can of corn, which was in a sock. Then, Taylor said that Johnson threw hot water on her and started to punch her, during which she instructed Williams to help “jump” her. She said that while she was on the ground, Williams walked over and started kicking her repeatedly. Then, Taylor said that Johnson told Williams to get the extension cord, which she did, and then she started “whipping” her with it. She said that they continued attacking her until a female maintenance worker stopped by to check on them due to the yelling. They noticed that Taylor had swelling to the left side of her face, redness around her left eye, and whip marks on her arms, shoulders, and back. Her shirt was ripped and appeared to be wet before she was transported to Summit Hospital, where she advised them that she wished to prosecute for the occurrence. Johnson was taken into custody for aggravated assault.

Juan Andres charged with sexual battery of family friend at death remembrance gathering

Metro Police say 41-year-old Juan Andres was at an Antioch home on March 12 where many friends and family had gathered due to a death in the family. During the evening, everyone present consumed both food and alcohol, resulting in many staying at the residence overnight, including a friend of the family, who is the victim in this case. After the female victim fell asleep on the couch, a family member noticed Juan Andres was seated beside her, with his hand inside the front of her pants. The family member pulled him away from the woman, and police were notified, and the victim was transported to the hospital for evaluation, stating she did not recall the incident. During an interview, Andres admitted to rubbing the victim across her back and buttocks, over her clothes, but “did not recall” if he touched her inside her pants, or not.
