Roderick Majors punches ex-girlfriend in the face multiple times at WoodSpring Suites Hotel

34-year-old Roderick Vontez Majors had a domestic incident with his ex-girlfriend, Kristan Mangrum, at WoodSpring Suites on November 26th, 2023. Mangrum informed officers that on November 25th, 2023, around 2 p.m., Majors arrived at her hotel room and started kicking and banging on the door. Mangrum stated she was in the process of leaving the hotel to visit her mother in the hospital. Mangrum added that Majors had no reason to be at the hotel due to them being separated. Mangrum then left Majors at the hotel to visit her mother in the hospital. Mangrum returned to her room around 5 a.m. and found that Majors was waiting for her at the hotel. When he made contact with Mangrum, he punched her in the head and face. After this, she called 911 from the hotel lobby phone. Majors then snatched the hotel phone from her and ripped it from the wall. Mangrum stated she then walked outside to the parking lot. Majors followed her and kept grabbing and punching her, causing slight swelling, redness, bruising, and a visible scratch. Mangrum noted that when she got away, she attempted to contact officers on her cell phone, but her phone was dead. Once Majors noticed what she was doing, he approached her, took her cell phone, and threw it on the ground, causing it to shatter. Mangrum told officers she attempted to walk away from WoodSpring Suites, fearing the incident would get her kicked out and leave her homeless. Majors fled the scene on foot and was not present while officers were on the scene, so they obtained a warrant for his arrest that day. Majors was later taken into custody for domestic assault, interference with a 911 phone call, and vandalism on June 15th, 2024.
