Bullied man rescued from Broadway, jailed for public intoxication — Jarred Bredesen

Metro Nashville Police responded to a fight on Broadway late Saturday night, but the victim could not be located. As they were in the area, they came into contact with 23-year-old Jarred Bredesen who they say was highly intoxicated and could barely stand without assistance. He was yelling at citizens who were walking by, stating that he was mad he had been bullied all of his life. Officers offered him a ride home, noting that Broadway probably wasn’t a safe place for him in his current state, however, he refused to get in the cruiser to be taken home. Due to the annoyance he was causing and his extreme level of intoxication, he still ended up in the back of the car anyway, but now he was handcuffed and charged with public intoxication and transported to booking.

Musician ‘Benny James’ charged with DUI after gig — Ben Svardahl

Police say 29-year-old Benjamin Svardahl, who goes by the stage name of ‘Benny James’, failed to move over for lane closures due to a traffic accident on I-40 in the early hours of Sunday morning, and nearly hit two vehicles and one officer, who had to jump over the barrier to avoid Svardahl’s oncoming car. Officers were able to pull him over 2 miles down the road, at mile marker 205, and observed him to be extremely intoxicated, with thick and mumbled speech and the inability to find his wallet, which was in his lap. He claimed to have had “2 draft beers” during his 3.5-hour music gig that had just ended. He blew a 0.211% BAC on a breathalyzer test.

46-year-old woman charged with harassment of her ex-boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend — Mandy Jordan

46-year-old Mandy Dawn Jordan is accused of harassing her ex-boyfriend’s now ex-girlfriend, Ronisha Holt. Holt states she’s changed phone numbers and even moved to another residence, and Dawn Jordan continues to harass and stalk her, calling and texting multiple times a day with threats. For this arrest, Jordan reportedly poured an unknown red substance into the gas tank of Holt’s car, causing it to no longer start.

UPDATE: Charges dropped against Husband, Wife released from DCS Custody — Cops had wrong birthdate

In a major update to the story we published yesterday about a refugee couple being separated by Metro Nashville Police, who charged the husband with felony statutory rape and committed the wife to DCS Custody, we have just learned that all charges are being dropped and the wife is being released from DCS custody. Metro Nashville Police say there was an error in determining her date of birth, which was actually in 2003, not 2006, making her 18-years-old, soon to be 19.

Nashville Police jail Married Afghan refugee; take wife into DCS custody — Maseehullah Feda

Metro Nashville Police initially responded to a 3rd party call about a domestic dispute early Tuesday morning. They met with 25-year-old Maseehullah Feda and his wife, who explained they were a married couple and were recently-arrived refugees from Afghanistan. As police were reviewing their provided and valid Employment Authorization cards they found the wife’s age to be 15. While allowable with permission in the country in which they were married (and also in Hawaii, Missouri, Montana, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire), police were not going to allow it in Tennessee.

Officers inquired about the sexual activities of the married couple, and they admitted they had sex within the past day, as they were married. Officer Paul Hughes took Feda into custody and charged him with felony statutory rape of his wife. Feda remains in jail, while his wife was removed from their home and taken into the custody of DCS.

Nicole Catchpole charged in domestic assault of boyfriend, Art Joyce, in downtown Nashville spat

39-year-old Nicole ‘Nicki’ Catchpole called police to assist her with getting her belongings from the Icon in the Gulch apartment of her boyfriend, Nashville investor & guitarist Art Joyce. She met officers in the lobby early Monday morning and explained the couple had been arguing since 2:30 a.m., and it had only escalated. She stated that he got in ‘close proximity to her face at one point and she struck him in the face with her cell phone. Police interviewed the victim, Arthur Joyce, and noticed visible injuries. Instead of assisting Nicki Catchpole with retrieving her belongings as she had requested, officers took her into custody and charged her with domestic assault.

New York man kicked out of The Capitol Hotel in downtown Nashville — Jaime Idrovo

Metro Police responded to the Capitol Hotel in downtown Nashville early Monday morning after 31-year-old Jaime Idrovo was in some sort of disturbance with another guest. Due to all of the commotion in the middle of the night, hotel management asked Idrovo to leave the hotel, but he refused, stating he was going back to sleep. After management asked him a second time, with police present, and he still refused, he was charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, and transported to booking.

DUI: Nashville Realtor crashes into a parked car after Margaritas & Tequila — Samantha Patton

25-year-old Nashville Realtor Samantha ‘Sammie’ Patton was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Friday evening after leaving Cilantro Mexican Grill, where she says she had two margaritas and a shot of tequila before driving. Officers say she left the restaurant and proceeded onto Eastland Ave where she struck a parked vehicle. When officers and medics responded to the overturned vehicle they found Patton extremely impaired. She refused a breath test.
