Man who jumped off pedestrian bridge into Cumberland River arrested — Jason Phillips

21-year-old Jason Phillips jumped off the pedestrian bridge and into the Cumberland River just before 1 a.m. Sunday. Metro Nashville Police observed him swimming to the West shore near Broadway and 1st Ave S., and allowed him to be cleared by NFD medics before taking him into custody for public intoxication. Police say he still reeked of alcohol, had slurred speech, and had very dilated pupils.

Unhoused man assaults Downtown Partnership employee on 4th Ave — Dustin Tomasso

An ambassador with the Nashville Downtown Partnership was checking on the well-being of 38-year-old Dustin Tomasso, who was on a sidewalk in downtown Nashville. Tomasso, who is unhoused, became hostile during the interaction and made aggressive motions toward the downtown employee, Michael Dean Henderson, and was spitting on him. As officers noticed the incident unfolding nearby, they began to approach and witnessed Tomasso chest bump Henderson and begin to assault him, including punching him in the head. Nearby citizens took Tomasso to the ground as officers approached.

North Carolina tourist Brandon Juhaish drunk dives into bed of police pickup truck during CMA Fest

Metro Nashville Police working Entertainment District for the CMA Fest crowd in downtown Nashville Thursday night observed 39-year-old Brandon Juhaish stumbling down the sidewalk near 5th & Broadway when he fell to the ground. He was assisted back to his feet by another citizen before falling back down and rolling around on the sidewalk. Juhaish then made his way back to his feet before running and diving into the bed of a marked MNPD pickup truck.

Colorado man arrested after interjecting himself into dispute at The Diner downtown — Kirk McCoy

Metro Nashville Police working CMA Fest in downtown Nashville Friday night responded to a call about a man fighting with the manager at the 3rd Ave S. location. While working that call, they encountered the subject’s friend, 38-year-old Kirk Dean McCoy, who was holding on to his friend in order to stand upright and was highly intoxicated. When officers asked McCoy to step aside so they could continue their investigation, he physically got between the subject and officers to prevent them from continuing their investigation. After being asked to move along multiple times, he was placed into custody for public intoxication. 

Trevor Fallen goes to jail after ignoring MNPD officers, crossing street in downtown Nashville

A traffic officer working the downtown Nashville Entertainment District told 26-year-old Trevor Fallen to not walk into the roadway Friday evening at the intersection of 5th & Broadway, yet he continued to do so. Metro Nashville Police Officer Randall also advised Fallon it was unsafe to currently cross the roadway and was also ignored. Once contact was made with Fallon, police say it was obvious he was too intoxicated to care for himself, and he was transported to booking for public intoxication. Kristin Harrison found passed out in downtown Nashville — public intoxication

Around 6 p.m. Sunday, multiple people began to report a female passed out on 4th Ave just north of Broadway. Officers and first responders located 34-year-old Kristin Harrison as the person in question, and after a few minutes, she was responsive and able to sit up and speak with them. She was heavily intoxicated, reeked of alcohol, and was unable to stand steadily. Despite multiple attempts to arrange for someone to pick her up or a ride to her destination, no arrangement were able to be made and she was transported to booking where she was charged with public intoxication.

Connor Schultz — deemed too drunk for Music City

Metro Nashville Police Officers working the Entertainment District Initiative in downtown Nashville Sunday encountered 22-year-old Connor Schultz outside of 300 Broadway after he was asked to leave a bar by security. Officers say he was entirely too intoxicated to care for himself in public, and transported him to booking, charging him with public intoxication.

Jonathan Cordon jailed after unable to pay $508 tab at Kid Rock’s Bar in downtown Nashville

Metro Nashville Police say 30-year-old Jonathan Cordon, of La Vergne, was unable to pay his $508.53 bar tab at Kid Rock’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville Thursday morning. Police initially responded to the venue after Cordon continued to re-enter the bar after being removed by security staff for fighting other patrons. He kept sneaking in through a window and was removed twice already when police came to assist. They observed him being belligerent and extremely intoxicated. As they placed him in the patrol car to be transported to booking, bar staff alerted officers the credit card was declined. Cordon said he had no other way to pay the bill, and Kid Rock’s bar wished to prosecute for the unpaid tab.
