Man pulls gun on girlfriend when phone rings at 3 a.m. — Ralph Frierson arrested

In mid-January, Octavia Evans says she was sleeping at her boyfriend’s house on Bank Street when her phone rang a 3:40 a.m. from a female friend. Her boyfriend, 29-year-old Ralph Frierson, heard her talking and reportedly came into the room demanding to know who she was speaking to, convinced it was another man. She says she explained it was one of her girlfriends, but he pulled out a black handgun and threatened to kill her if she didn’t immediately leave his home. She says as she was grabbing her things he placed the gun to her head and told her to exit via the rear door.

Police wrestle man walking on side of interstate for “several minutes” before arrest — Demarus Phillips

Less than 72 hours after multiple officers shot a killed a man who had been walking alongside an interstate last week, Metro Nashville Police responded to mile marker 89.6 of I-65 N after a citizen report a man, later identified as 32-year-old Demarus Phillips, walking alongside the roadway. Due to safety concerns, they ordered the man further to the side of the road, away from the lanes of travel, and he became upset, stating “I’m just going home”. Police demanded he turn and place his hands behind his back, which he refused. A fight then began with officers which lasted for “several minutes” until he was eventually wrestled to the ground and taken into custody.

Woman jailed after stealing $51 worth of goods at Walmart — Skikisha Kennedy

18-year-old Shikisha Kennedy is charged with theft after police say they responded to the Walmart on Dickerson Pike after loss prevention had observed her walking around the store and putting merchandise worth $51 in her purse. Once she passed all points of sale she was detained until officers arrived. It was discovered she also had an outstanding warrant for driving without a license.

Man charged with assaulting child’s mother with vape pen & fists — Naveah Young arrested

21-year-old Nevaeh Young is charged with the domestic assault of the mother of his child after she says he threw a vape pen at her, punched her, and knocked her to the ground during an argument. She called an ex-boyfriend, who then called the police to respond to the scene. Police documented the victim’s injuries and spoke with Young, who stated “I do have anger issues but we just had a verbal argument”.

Midtown man charged in assault of boyfriend after drinking — Brett Curtis Finch arrested

Police say Jeremy Bauer told his boyfriend, 40-year-old Brett Finch, to “go to bed and stop arguing” after dinner and drinks. That’s when Bauer says Finch struck him in the face, causing a laceration to his lip. Police responded to the scene, and documented visible scratches on the victim’s neck and discovered a cracked screen on the victim’s phone, which Brett reportedly threw to the ground. Police issued two warrants for the arrest of Finch, as he had already fled the scene, and he was booked into the Metro Jail this week.

Young Buck arrested after vandalizing ex-girlfriend’s car — David Darnell Brown

38-year-old David Darnell Brown AKA Young Buck is free on a $1,000 bond after police say he pulled up to his ex-girlfriend’s house on Rockland Trail Wednesday morning and kicked on her front door, and then kicked her vehicle when no one answered. Officers confirmed the damage to the vehicle, and there was security footage of the incident. Brown is charged with vandalism.

All My Sons Moving says employee stole “multiple firearms from multiple counties” — Devante McMillian

20-year-old Devantae McMillian is charged with felony theft of a firearm after David Beste reported two Beretta handguns worth $2600 were missing after hiring All My Sons Moving. Police contacted the company, who stated “we’ve had multiple clients reporting missing firearms over the past week both in Davidson and surrounding counties”. McMillian reportedly admitted to the thefts to his manager, and again confessed to police.

Mt. Juliet man charged after being drunk & disorderly in downtown Nashville — Justin Lopez

Metro Police say they were dealing with a separate incident at 310 Broadway in downtown Nashville when 29-year-old Justin Lopez inserted himself into the situation and became incredibly agitated and became aggressive toward one of the involved parties. Police attempted to stop him as he aggressively approached them, but he tried to force his way past officers. That’s when they realized how extremely intoxicated he was, and took Lopez into custody.
