Kenneth Reynolds Jr. jailed after Belle Meade traffic stop using LPR camera

35-year-old Kenneth Reynolds Jr. was jailed after police observed tags on a 2004 two-door Toyota Tundra that didn’t match, traveling on Harding Road near Davidson Road. They pulled over the vehicle at Belle Meade Plaza. The driver, Reynolds, and two other passengers were detained. Reynolds initially identified himself as Kevin Spencer, with a birth date of August 28, 1988. After running his information through dispatch, it came back as not on file. The officer asked again what his name was, and he gave the same information and told officers he didn’t know his social security number. When officers asked a third time, he gave the same information but made up a social security number that wasn’t identified through dispatch.

The tags on the Tundra came back stolen, and the occupants were placed in the patrol vehicle. During the vehicle search, officers located drug paraphernalia and narcotics in separate containers. One container contained a glass pipe, two straw pipes, and a scale. The narcotics were packaged in four small baggies totaling 10.4 grams of meth. Reynolds eventually identified himself and owned up to stealing the license plate and the vehicle. He also advised that the meth and paraphernalia belonged to him.

Jennifer Powell purged from Play Dance Bar after drunken wallet theft

38-year-old Jennifer Powell had a dispute at Play Dance Bar on Church Street about a wallet, which caused security to get involved early Friday morning. Security staff stated that after a wallet went missing, Jennifer was confronted and gave the wallet back to the unknown individual, who then left. When they told Jennifer and her party to leave the venue, Jennifer began fighting security. They stated they did not wish to prosecute but wanted Jennifer off the property. Police gave her the opportunity to leave with her friends, but she refused to take it. Also, she had no phone or wallet to get a hotel or a ride. Due to her signs of visible intoxication, police placed her in custody for public intoxication and transported her to booking.

Daniel Jones jailed for public intoxication after fight with his father

22-year-old Daniel Jones was on the sidewalk when police arrived in response to a fight involving him and his father. Daniel was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech, and smelled of alcohol, but his father was not present on the scene. He told police he was staying at his mother’s somewhere in Hendersonville but could not remember the exact location or how to get there. Also, he told them that he did not know his mother’s or stepfather’s phone numbers to get him there. Police asked if he wanted to go to the hospital or stay in a shelter; he refused. However, he said that he did not mind being arrested. He was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Musician Eric Rich charged with DUI after crash; had a “couple of drinks”

31-year-old Eric Thomas Rich was driving a vehicle involved in a car accident near the intersection of Lake Chateau Dr. and S New Hope Rd on September 21st. Police made contact with Eric, who reportedly reeked of alcohol and refused to move when asked for his information. When he decided to grab the information, police noticed he was unsteady and needed the car for support. He was flustered as he unsuccessfully looked for his registration and admitted to drinking a couple of drinks but could not say where or when through slurred speech. Police asked him to perform sobriety tests, but he refused nor wanted to do anything that would take him to court. They then asked him to turn around and put his hands behind his back, and he almost fell into the car. Police obtained a warrant for his blood since he refused, but he asked questions while the blood was drawn. The officers told him he could request additional testing, but he said his hospital is in Georgia, so he would not be impaired when they made it, admitting to the intoxication.

Nicholas Newman charged in assault of father who was attempting to help him

18-year-old Nicholas Newman ran out of gas on I65 and called his father for help when an argument ensued Wednesday. The father, Burton Newman, reported the incident at a local hospital Wednesday night, and police spoke with him about the incident. He said after he arrived, and they argued, Nicholas punched him in the leg and hit his car with a gas can. Police noted a bruise on Burton’s calve, a crack in his windshield, and minor dents in his car. Police went to I65 to find Nicholas but could not locate him. No one witnessed the vandalism; they both refused services, and Burton said he was unsure if he wanted to prosecute. Police prosecuted on Burton’s behalf due to the bruise on his leg.

Derrick Grace charged with pepper-spraying another man on Church Street

38-year-old Derrick Grace reportedly pepper sprayed another man outside of the post office on Church St. on August 30th. The other man, Quintin, told police he recognized Derrick from the gym, and he approached him to speak to him. After they spoke, Quintin said that Derrick got into his vehicle and reversed back to him. He said that Derrick called him back over, and he leaned on Derrick’s car. That is when Derrick pepper sprayed him, despite him dodging. Derrick told police that Quintin said, “He had that good on him,” then raised his eyebrows. When he acted like he did not hear him, he got into his vehicle, drove back over to Quintin, and rolled down his passenger vehicle. Derrick told police there were no threats and only wanted to speak with him. After talking, he said that is when he pepper sprayed Quintin and called the police. Quintin told police he wished to prosecute, and that is when Derrick was cited for assault. He was later booked on the assault charge on September 19th.

Madelyn Blevin jailed downtown after drunkenly fighting with a man and police officers

22-year-old Madelyn Blevin was fighting with a man on the sidewalk of 7th Ave when police intervened on September 21st. After being separated, Madelyn got into the police officer’s face and began cursing at them. She kept walking towards the male she was fighting with, and the police told her not to, so she continued to get in their faces. Police noticed a smell of alcohol on Madelyn as she refused to back off of them. They attempted to place her into custody, and she resisted by locking her arms, pulling, and walking away. She continued to pull away from the police, but they eventually were able to take her into custody and transport her to booking.

Amya Johnson kicks in front door of boyfriend’s house after seeing him with another woman

19-year-old Amya Johnson saw her boyfriend, Jayemus Daniels, with another girl, Jayemus told police, which caused an argument between them on July 7th at a residence on Baldwin Ct. He said Amya kicked in the front door after he went inside to avoid the argument. Police noted that there was damage to the door frame and that Amya wasn’t at the scene when they arrived. They attempted to contact Amya, but she said she had a video shoot to go to but would contact them later. She was arrested for the vandalism charge on September 20th.
